The latest version (2010) of the First cabin (termed "Prime" internally by British Airways, or "New First") is available on all 4-class 777s and all 747s.

An newer evolution (2013) of the First seat (Prime+) is found on all A380s, and a newer version still (2015) is available on all 787-9s.

The older version of the First cabin (termed "Classic" internally by British Airways, or "Old First") has now been withdrawn.

747 information updated to 31 March 2016. Last change: withdrawal of G-BNLF, the last OF aircraft

According to BA.com if you make a dummy booking for BA57 tomorrow the aircraft is an A380 so NF = yes

It's a fairly damning indictment of how long this First class enhancement has taken, but has anyone noticed that we are now at over half a million views on this topic and we still have people in tatty worn out seats???

Is there another topic with more views?

Cant see one readily on the BA forum.

I am traveling with my wife and child (lap infant that does not fuss one bit while traveling, because I know what you are all thinking because I would think the same thing ) and I want to pick the best seats. Please help! Let me know if I should keep my current choice of 4e/f or switch it. Thank you all again for your very valuable feedback.
what I find in the 5e/f is the light overhead, sometimes it stays on much of the time and for me at least, even with eyeshades, interferes with sleep.

I actually LIKE the 4ef in the middle. The table/chocolate stand in front of the seats, isn't really bothersome. I don't find that people congregate there at all. I also think the paired seating for meals in 4ef is the best. Since there is another empty seat next to it, it feels like a little cozy restaurant - at 35,000 feet traveling 520 mph. ;-)

I don't see the relationship between > .5m views and the number of posts and 'tatty worn out seats'. What are you getting at?

The row 1 seats are not good on the A380, just a heads up.

I've read conflicting info about Row 1, but I thought it might at least look nice on a boarding pass!

I like 1A/K on the A380, nice and private.

LHR-YVR: New First?

BA uses the 744 on LHR-YVR, and I was wondering if New First is used on this route. I am trying to decide for my trip this summer whether to go from YYZ (where I can go on a 777) or YVR.

It's not guaranteed on the route. I had both new and old on my recent journey to YVR.

You have a slightly less than 50% chance of getting OF on this route. But then you can get the 50,000 avois compensation...

Going off the top of my head I think that 14 out of 25 low J 744's have new first.

Come summer, YYZ will be serviced by one 787(BA92/93) and a pair of 747s (BA96/97, BA98/99). The 787 has no First, and with the 747s it's a toss up.
