The latest version (2010) of the First cabin (termed "Prime" internally by British Airways, or "New First") is available on all 4-class 777s and all 747s.

An newer evolution (2013) of the First seat (Prime+) is found on all A380s, and a newer version still (2015) is available on all 787-9s.

The older version of the First cabin (termed "Classic" internally by British Airways, or "Old First") has now been withdrawn.

747 information updated to 31 March 2016. Last change: withdrawal of G-BNLF, the last OF aircraft

LHR - Shanghai or Beijing

Hi,
Can you please tell me which route from LHR has the new first suites
Think its 777 used for Shanghai
Think its 747 used for Beijing
which route would be best for new First also which airport is the best.
Thanks

This is really disappointing, IMHO.
bump.

Anyone see anything official from BA?

I do think that ba.com should be updated accordingly, to manage expectations.

Shanghai is guaranteed NF. Beijing is not, though from memory it tends to use more Hi-J aircraft so chances of getting it should continue to increase.

But if everything else is equal and the guarantee of NF is enough to sway you, go for Shanghai.

We're flying to JFK tomorrow on BA113. Previously when I've checked our seats on MMB the seating chart showed a wardrobe between 1A and 1K. This has now disappeared from the seating chart for our outbound flight (it is till there on the chart for our return flight). Does this indicate whether our flight will have New First or Old First?

I've checked the statistics for NF on ftdashboard and it's showing 93% New First on our route to JFK, so I'm hoping that we'll get the refreshed cabin.

You'll almost certainly get NF to JFK, but in my experience the 'disappearing wardrobe' means nothing.

Thanks, that's a relief. It will only be our second First flight and a rare treat forced on us by lack of availability in Club, so I'd like to get NF if we're burning through slightly more of our miles collection than I originally wanted to spend!

Question NF from LGW?

Sorry if this has been answered elsewhere. Didn't see it on page one, and apologies for not reading remaining 149 pages completely!

Is NF being fitted to 777s in LGW fleet (if indeed it is a different fleet)?

Flying to the Caribbean in January and wondering whether to get excited...

Thanks in advance for answers (good or bad!).

I wouldn't get too excited yet!!! The only real chance out of LGW is when you get an LHR plane on a maintenance swap, stranger things have happened though!

Having just done DEL and back this week in Old First, the best bonus is the ipads so you don't have to put up with the dreadful 8 channel 3" TVs!

This Winter BA have decided to suspend the BA279/BA278 rotation for the entire Winter Season. The BA283/BA282 and BA269/BA268 will see changes to there departure times from both LHR and LAX compared to W10.

BA will operate a Daily Hi-J 747 on the BA269/BA268 service. On the BA283/BA282 a Hi-J service will operate 4 x weekly (Days 3, 4, 5 & 6) and a Mid-J 3 x weekly (Days 1, 2 & 7)
Here's some information on LAX/LHR flights. You can't tell for sure until just before your flight but it looks like you have a great chance on 268!

To be honest nobody knows and with it still 5 months to go, it really is a impossible question to give an answer too.

LAX has been getting NF planes but with it been mostly a low J route, you have less chance than a high J route. I think more high J 747's have NF than low J's.

We would love to say yes you will have NF, but we can't.

Edit - If im reading BAflyguy's post above correctly. It sound like more high J's are going to be used on the LAX route and a high J 747 is going to operate on the 268 and on the 283 for your return on 21/3/12. So you should have a good chance of NF but remember at the minute nothing is guaranteed .

Has it been confirmed that G-CIVL is still OF, or is it a case of the information is just not known yet?
