I joined 2000, and my numer is 48xxxxxx, by husband joined 2003 and his is 22xxxxxx, so do not know how BA work that out, must just be random numbers we are given, still whatever numbers we have we still rack up the airmiles just over 184K, those are still left after using the companion ticket to LAX F in October,

It's bloody random, get over it

Code:
CreateMember()
{
    MemberId newId = new MemberId();
    do
    {
         newId.Identifier = new Random().Next(10000000, 99999999);
    } while (newId.IsDuplicate);
    ...do stuff here
}
I joined in the days when you could tear out a membership card from a flyer in the seat back pocket - they were already numbered, and that's the number I still have today.

Thanks for triggering my old memory cells. I recall now the floppy cards affixed to BAEC ads inside the Highlife mag although I signed up sometime during the mid 90's using a flyer I collected at a BA ticket desk.

I originally enrolled in 1992 but the account only lasted for a solitary year. This was back in the day when super apex fares earned diddly-squat.

Ah, but those were the days though. No points for tier level and it took about a year after they started issuing BA/First USA credit cards before it twigged that they were giving miles on cash advances!

My card starts 73xxxxxx and dates from an awfully long time ago when one could pay to get a silver card.

Mine is 448***** and I joined in 2003.

My father joined in the mid 1990s and the last four digits of his are one more than the first four digits.

I joined in around 2001 or 2002 and am 48xxxxxx. Signed my parents up within a few minutes of each other recently and they are both 18s. However their final digits are 11 numbers apart as well.

I was about to say that I recollect I got my number from a Highlife mag application from and it starts with a 32. in the late 90s. My partner's card was from one of the card application from from the front of a domestic flight and it starts with 22. Might be to do with where the numbers come as well. The card numbers were on the application form itself, not assigned after the submission of the application form.

There is no rhyme nor reason, I was one of the first ever members of the BAEC and mine starts with 8.

I joined in '02 and mine begins with a 4.

I'm a Sagittarius.
It was a gibbous moon when I signed up.

Me and my wife signed up at the same time (2007), and both numbers start with 16xxxxxx. Only the last two digits are different.
