You have to get 2780 TPs to get GGL benefits as written in your screenshot. If not, on March of 9th you will remain as Gold since your TPs are more than 1500. You do need 380TPs to get GUF2 voucher.

As above, you have quite a lot of flying to do if you want to reach GGL before your TP year end....! (2,780 TPs to be precise)
The GUF2 voucher at 2,500 TPs would be worthwhile if you do manage to get the extra 280 TPs to bring you to 2,500.

As it stands you have retained Gold status so you would have that until 30th April 2025.
If you don't get at least 1,500 TPs next year (before 8th March 2025) you will drop to Silver with a card valid until 30th April 2026.
As your page already displays the 2025 card expiry, and not 2024, I would guess that you were promoted to Gold status at some point during the current membership year.

Bit uncertain about fare classes for joker

I want to book shorthaul avios flights for some family members during the English school summer holidays 2024. Fairly flexible on destination as long as they can get to a warm/hot seaside without too difficult an onward journey. Getting flights much more important than class of travel.

I thought I could be clever and use GUFs but, even though flexible-ish on dates, it turns out I availability is patchy. Seeing mainly R and some D.

Two questions -

1. I have read in GGL guide that using a joker requires D availability but does it also work for R (which I think is still a discounted fare just not as discounted as I)?

2. If I want to try to use a joker for economy what fare class(es) should I look for? I see from post #14 above that B works. Does anything else?

Thank you.

1. it is D, but it would be unusual to have R selling class available on a flight but not D.

2. Yes B, but again B is quite a high up selling class so it is unlikely other cheaper ones like N, V, O could be available and B is not. Y, B, H are the three non-discounted economy selling classes,

Thank you KARFA.
It all makes (more) sense to me now you have explained it that way. Thank you.

I was thinking to book a trip to Japan in PE as a holiday with BAH, and then use a Joker to open up CW availability to upgrade with a GUF.
I've never done it before, so my doubt is: if I book the BAH trip online, who should I then call to apply the Joker + GUF? BAH or the GGL line?

Also, if the SH flight is operated by EI, there are no issues upgrading just the LH legs, right?

You can do it all through the GGL line although they will have to liaise with BA Holidays during the call.
Personally I would call and do it all at the same time.
Otherwise you can make the BAH booking online and then call GGL after.
Also GUF from WTP to CW seems to be quite expensive, often close to the CW price.
YMMV of course.

Easier option when you are not a native English speaker

If I'm not mistaken, for the routing and dates I researched (DUB-LHR-HND late October) there was just a 140 eur pp difference between WTP and CW taxes. At the same time, the WTP ticket was around 1500 eur pp instead of 3000 eur pp for CW. For 4 people there is quite a difference.

Yes the YQ on the business fare is relatively low compared to the W fare. Roughy 375 vs 150.

You can do this using just the GUF only if I class is available, or if you need to use a joker then consider using Avios and saving the GUF for another day?

"I" class is not available at the moment, therefore I would need the Joker to apply the GUF.
Regarding Avios, since I live in a country where you can earn them only by flying (and BA has become very stingy about it) I prefer to use them in more effective ways, like booking flights that have a high cash price.

Interesting view showing the progress toward gold for life. I've never seen that on my account page.

Being able to access my account page without an error message would be fine enough let alone see progress details.

Don't forget that the avios boost option in selling miles lets anyone who earns 100k miles a year buy another 300k for 0.92p each

Sounds like its time to change your country if you dont have to worry about credit card country constraints . The Avios Subscription and Avios Boost products are decent value (I assume they are country restricted?).

As an aside re: the current Avios stinginess its ironic that that as a price sensitive customer I am now less incentivised to be loyal to BA as the difference in earning on QR/CX is reduced, I fly BA if they offer the price and schedule that I need and the Avios are a tertiary consideration. They are now rewarding fliers that will fly them regardless - quite bizarre.
