Has anyone managed to get around the "highest service class = that charged" rule yet?

Reason i ask is that i'm trying to get from ORD-MAN in J on the 7th July. My preffered way is via PHL, to save on the YQ taxes, charged by european airlines. Problem is there is only 1st class available on the short 2 class flights from ORD-PHL, and the ICC want to charge the whole journey as a 1st redemtion. Is it worth me phoning back the ICC, in the hope of speaking to someone else?

Any help appreciated, else i'm coming back on the AA ORD-MAN direct, in Y!

Nope - they apply it consistently now, although it is still pretty unreasonable and very frustrating.

help needed with searching for availability

I signed up with ANA to try and check availability for next year - Heathrow to Puerto Rico - flying into San Juan (SIG) - kept changing the dates but all that happened was error messages saying this information is not available on the internet. Have I missed something - for the country area I put US.
All the dates were inside the 330 days...
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

You may need to try SJU as its the main airport in PR also you will need to break up the route city to city. Try this link and work back from SJU to the US then to LHR

The error message is ANA's way of telling you "SIG is not the right airport code, the Star Alliance don't fly there"

LHR-SJU is one of those routes where ANA needs a little nudge to come up with the flights, so your first stop should be the Star Alliance timetable, which shows a couple of 1-stop routes via EWR and PHL. Back to ANA, clicking "Select Transit City" and putting in EWR or PHL coaxes the system into life.

There's also a whole pile of 2-stop routes suggested by the Star Alliance timetable, best to research these individually sector-by-sector in ANA.

Im nowhere near my KVS for a couple of days. Can anyone see flight to Montreal from anywhere in the UK? Any time in the next couple of months. I know its a bit vague but I was told that AC didnt have much in terms of award seats.

Sorry it is a bit vague, my mother is very sick at the moment and not expected to last, and I just got it into my head to go and see where they got married and take some pictures.

Very sorry to hear about your mother's condition -- please feel free to PM for any assistance, or to request an additional Registration Code for a temporary computer that you may wish to use the KVS Tool on in the coming days.

West Coast US Redemption

Im looking to book my first DC redemption, a business class return (for 2) to either LAX, SFO or LAS in October and have hit a wall availability wise, there seems to be nothing at all, bar going via Geneva and JFK on LX and I don't really fancy the JFK-LAX sector in domestic Y.

Is it usual for there to be no availability 5 months or so out, have I simply just left it too late? Or will things open up closer to the time? Or am I just using ANA/ EF incorrectly?

Is it worth giving the call centre a call to see what they can find, or will that just be a waste of time?

Any creative routings ex-UK to South Florida around Christmas ?

Hi Folks

I'm looking to try for 2 x J - outbound on Dec 17/18 and return on Dec 29/30 (yes, I'm aware that this is around Christmas and New Year and availbility reflects this)

I've checked ANA on the obvious LHR-MAN to MIA/PBI/TPA/MCO direct, and via FRA/MUC/BRU - with and without JFK/EWR/IAD/ORD - and no availability.

I wonder if anyone has experience of trying this destination and has any creative routings which have proved succesful.

Other than *A, the best so far is BA LHR-ATL - then a commute on AirTran or DL .............

Thanks

Thanks Oxon Flyer for the quick reply.

Apologies - I omitted to say that this needs to be a C + M, which I recall is not allowed on LH ?

When I checked ANA right now, I note that the LH 463 MIA-FRA is available in Y, but not J - did someone get them already, or am I missing something ?

LH 902 FRA-LHR shows as available
