Hi,

I am familiar with ANA - my Q is whether BMI would allow me to make a booking when I do not yet have the miles ?

Afraid not. The miles have to be in your account for a redemption. You can always buy miles if you are short of what you need.

Interestingly they will happily deduct miles from the wrong account and send you overdrawn because they are incapable of following simple instructions

I *think* that you can. In fact I am pretty sure that a while back, someone either redeemed or got miles from an Air Nippon flight to HKG.

Thank you, Tiger_lily. I was able to redeem on Japan domestic Air Nippon flights with connection flights to MAN.

Can one of you kind folks with expertflyer access have a look for a couple of reward flights for me on Swiss.

I'm after 3 seats in either F or C and 2 seats in Y on the same flight.

18th August from MAN to either ORD, or MIA

3 or 4 Sept reverse either MIA or ORD to MAN.

Thanks in advance.

LX64 ZRH 08/18/10 1:05 PM MIA 08/18/10 5:30 PM : O 0 | I 8 | X 2

3 or 4 Sept reverse either MIA or ORD to MAN.
LX9 ORD 09/03/10 7:15 PM ZRH 09/04/10 11:00 AM : O 0 | I 8 | X 2

LX65 MIA 09/03/10 7:50 PM ZRH 09/04/10 11:05 AM : O 0 | I 8 | X 2

I've only checked to/from ZRH and for 3 Sept for return but the pattern seems consistent and there shouldn't be any problem so far ahead for MAN-ZRH-MAN. Let me know if you really want me to check 4 Sept as well. ;)

LHR to NAN advice

I've never made a redemption before, so looking for a bit of help, please! I'd like to get two return tickets from LHR to NAN (Fiji), flying out around 16/08/2010 and returning around 29/08/2010.

Can anyone suggest the most miles-effective route for this? I'll probably need to do miles + cash for this as well... does that make any difference? I'm just coming up to 100,000 destination miles. Would it be better to book one completely as a redemption and just buy one flight (and thus gain more miles!) or to do miles + cash for both.

Also, I'm BD*S at the moment, but expect to gain BD*G around Feb/Mar next year. Would there be any advantage to waiting until then before booking the flights, or would the risk that there would be no redemption flights available by then outweigh the benefits if there are any?

Really appreciate any advice people can offer!

ok to start LHR-NAN is Zone 1 to 9 so for cash and miles you need 50,000 + £340 + taxes each (this is for economy)
Log onto staralliance.com and you will see the possible routings
Sign up for ANA - details in the Sticky at the top and you will be able to check availability for these flight

no benefit in waiting for BD*G - best to book the soonest you can

From what I can see in the schedules and availability, you won't have many options with such a specialized locale as NAN. Since FJ is not a partner you will have to route through AKL then AKL-NAN on NZ. You won't find much luck on the through flights to AKL operated by NZ out of LHR, but be creative with connections and you should be able to get there.

TG booking problem BKK - LHR

Trying to repatriate myself from Brisbane to Glasgow in either First or Business to arrive between the 31 October and the 2 November.

Options are not great to put it mildly, according to the ANA tool. Singapore Airlines shenanigans being one of, if not the major, culprit!

BNE to BKK is not a problem, but I've been trying to book BKK-LHR on TG910 on either the 31 Oct or 2 Nov in F. The ANA tool shows availability but all the agents that I've spoken with (male) have said that the flights are showing as being available but when they try to book they are waitlisted. TG910 on the 31 Oct has displayed availability in F for at least 1 week.

On the Thai Airlines website it does not show any availbility in F for the 31 Oct but it does show availability on the 2 Nov in F. I know this will not be directly related to DC redemptions.....

Will it be worth me pesterering the ICC any longer or should I be looking for an alternate routing?

Any help or advice from any old hands would be greatly appreciated.

Tax and YQ

Afternoon all

I've got two options on a one way flight back from the states. What will the tax and YQ be on the following two options:

a) MCO-ORD-ZRH-MAN (UA-LX-LX) in C

b) MCO-IAD-LHR-MAN (UA) mostly in F

I've paid £213 each on the way out on UA (LH was extortionate)? Surely it's cheaper on the return?

Many Thanks

TheKipper
