Hello,

I tried to purchase 20,000 gift miles for a friend and I got this message:

"We apologize for the inconvenience but we were not able to purchase the miles requested. The transaction has been cancelled and your card has not been charged.

Total billed to your card: £255.00"

Did you ever encountered a similar error?
Any idea on what I could do?

thanks for any help or suggestion...

-gio

My friend also got today this "Information Transfer Error" message, while trying to purchase miles, but the funny thing is, when i logged in my account on the same computer I was able to purchase the miles to myself. It seemes like purchasing miles was forbidden for him? could it be possible?

I was concerned last night, having decided to top up my destination miles under the current promotion : the transaction appeared to fail (after a L-O-N-G time trying), but the 'pending transactions' total against my bmi Mastercard had been increased by the relevant amount.

However I see this morning that my additional miles have been credited after all. (I half-expected they would be.)

Okay, how do you do it to actually buy miles. I tried the link, chose the amount of miles I wanted, entered my email and when I click "next" I get an error message. I have tried this over the last 6 weeks or so.
So what's the magic trick ?

Same problem here. For some reason I get an error message or a blank page when using Internet Explorer, but no problem when using Firefox.

I cleaned up the cookies and used 3 different computers and 2 different browsers - still the same result: I get an error message.
Interesting though is that 1000 dc points a re listed to cost 0.12 GBP. I goes that is where the problem begins.
Any other advice ?

Do you see this exactly this format ?:

1. your details

First Name * Flyer
surname * Oxon
diamond club number * 116XXXXX
email address *
number of miles * 1,000 (£12.00) <drop-down box here>

followed by a 'continue' button ? Is this the point where it fails ?

I changed my Windows Locale from English(UK) to Greece, and the display changed to :

1,000 miles £0.12

and then it failed.

So you will need to set your Windows Locale to UK for this to work properly.
