Stick with DC Redemption or switch to Fare Error

Having a bit of a dilemma - i've got a trip to Asia planned for Easter time...

LHR-SIN in SQ J
SIN-NRT in NH J
NRT-LHR in NH F

...which cost about 52000 DC miles and Ł500 in tax/cash. However because of this fare error I could cancel and rebook (LHR-)DUB-BKK return in GF F all-in for <Ł900.

With a Cash&Miles BKK-NRT return in J with TG/NH, I could overall earn ~27k Virgin miles and get back about ~25k DC miles, all for an additional cost of about Ł400.

What are people's opinions? Is Bangkok a worse place to spend three or four days than Singapore? Is it worth the extra effort to fly over to Dublin to start the GF trip? Is topping my DC account back up with 25k wise given talk about the potential demise of Cash&Miles awards?

IME BKK is far more preferable than SIN as a stopover - bigger, less expensive and with better service in general.
I would give GF a spin if I were you - the MCT-BKK leg will most likely have older F seats (still good though) but LHR-MCT will have new fully flat F seats and you will get to experience food by the in-flight chef on both legs.
25k bmi DC miles are worth more than VS miles IMO and I personally doubt ( ) DC cash+miles will go in the short-medium term.

I'd prefer BKK over SIN for a stopover at any time as BKK is more interesting IMO.

I wonder if there's any chance to credit GF miles to BMI in the near future? BMI has its code on all GF flights ex LON, but unlike the cooperation with QR it's not possible to credit GF miles to BMI.

Apart from this issue, it will be interesting to see if we get BMI miles for the DUB-LHR op by BMI but with GF flight number.

I think you are already familiar with the GF product. BKK is WAY more interesting than SIN though it will be warming up nicely by Easter. If the choice was between NRT and BKK it would be a much tougher decision. 3 days in SIN is 2.5 too many imho. Missing out on NH F would be a tough call though it really is a fantastic experience.

Do NH F !!!! It is absolutely outstanding. I've travelled in the front cabin of a lot of carriers, and NH F is head and shoulders ahead of the pack. (I think Swanhunter would agree here.)

SIN is a dull place per se, but it is excellent for good shopping, and for getting great hotels at good prices too. You can get the R-C or the Shangri-La in SIN for well under Ł150 a night, which is excellent value IMO. (Of course BKK hotels are cheap too, but SIN has no virtually language issues, cabbies are honest, and there is no one out on every road corner trying to sell you something.)

If you do go to BKK, I can give you advice on a certain bar that Swanhunter recently recommended to me before my last trip. Just off Sukhumvit Soi 12. You'll walk out wondering: "I can't believe it wasn't table tennis."

I redeem bmi miles as fast as they come on. It's only a matter of time until bmi's award chart and mileage earning rate falls in line with every other frequent flyer program.

I would agree AJ - NH F is superb.

Bit worried about you associating my name with bars in BKK though. Don't want rumours started.

Actually as the OP's trip is at Easter, he should get the new Skybeds. I phoned GF today to get my seat assignments for my trip in the first week of March, and although they haven't changed the seat maps yet, the very helpful agent confirmed that they are expecting to have all the A340s done by the time of my trip
