Having a bit of a dilemma - i've got a trip to Asia planned for Easter time...
LHR-SIN in SQ J
SIN-NRT in NH J
NRT-LHR in NH F
...which cost about 52000 DC miles and £500 in tax/cash. However because of
this fare error I could cancel and rebook (LHR-)DUB-BKK return in GF F all-in for <£900.
With a Cash&Miles BKK-NRT return in J with TG/NH, I could overall earn ~27k Virgin miles and get back about ~25k DC miles, all for an additional cost of about £400.
What are people's opinions? Is Bangkok a worse place to spend three or four days than Singapore? Is it worth the extra effort to fly over to Dublin to start the GF trip? Is topping my DC account back up with 25k wise given talk about the potential demise of Cash&Miles awards?
