Maybe we should start a facegroup campaign to wake BD management up to their impending disaster?
Personally, I would fire the brand consultants who came up with the new logo. I wonder if it was created by the same team who tried to launch the new GAP branding?

Sometimes you gotta laugh at the Google ads on Flyer Talk. Today the ads served offer plenty of links to freelance and home made logo design. Donington Hall must have clicked on one of those when they "redesigned" the logo.

And here is the usual meaningless PR blurb:
17 DEC 2010
New logo for bmi
British Midland International (bmi) has unveiled a new logo and visual identity. The airline undertook a strategic review of its brand when it became part of the Lufthansa family last year. The new logo offers bmi a much stronger identity by using the full name of British Midland International, rather than just bmi.
The new brandmark refreshes the heritage blue colour that bmi is known for but also creates a larger logo footprint for bmi, enabling it to achieve greater presence and standout in its communications.
Joerg Hennemann, chief commercial officer, bmi, said "In British Midland International, we are building a clearly-defined, well-positioned and easily understood brand. Our customers around the world associate themselves with a British airline and our refreshing, new visual identity will help us to communicate in an even clearer way with our customers and staff alike. Our new logo shows our customers that we are an international airline with a strong British heritage.

I've just got an email from bmi about the Jan Sale. (I received it in two versions as I seemed to be signed up for their emails as a DC member AND a non-member.)
The version that went to me as a non-member had the new bmi logo at the top right - but ONLY the circle with "bmi" inside, and not the full name to the left. Seems they already can't be consistent. Oh dear!
