Do a "hard" refresh of your browser - hold down Fn. / Ctrl. / Cmd depending on which browser you use.

I smell imminent legal action from one-world...

It's a circle with letters in it. I'm sure there was other logo's matching that description well before oneworld ever existed.

True, but there is a possibility of customer confusion here, I feel. (maybe I've been working with the public too long ) EI used to use a big red blob for a while, when they styled themselves aerlingusOcom

Anyone offering odds on how long this version will last?

Completely agree - much better centred!

I do wish they went back to drawing board though as I agree the sphere is too similar to oneworld. Customer confusion will reign!

At least they had the sense to quiety drop bmi and go back to British Midland which most people seem to know, especially Star Alliance partners.

I declare this to be the age of the "Blue Button".

But it does look like a quick 5 minute bashup in Adobe Illustrator to be honest. At least the font is semi pleasing to the eye.

Alignment of course is in the eye of the beholder - like all graphic design. Nice to see BMI is doing focus groups and design work with it's customers.

Or the lack of thereafter

I find it very cheap and tacky looking. Does not give a professional image at all. I can't imagine doing this in the middle of a fleet overhaul is sensible either. Dumb.

I mirror the oneworld comments - easily, EASILY confusing to the general public.

All they need to do now is add a cheeky smile to the nose of the plane....

I've played around with this and I can't escape the thought that the original version of the branding bmi british midland should have been what they brought back into use, with british midland placed within the bmi, where space permits, or beside it where it does not. Sometimes original is best.

Completely agree. Not to mention they now have a different 'brand standard' on the aircraft than they do on the website/marketing material. I thought they were about making things more consistent, not less.

I also think it looks a bit childish. The original branding package from the early 2000s was so much better. Remember the ticket jackets?

I don't remember the ticket jackets (well because I have never flown bmi before BMED was bought by bmi) but have seen a few in BEY - care to explain how they were?

That's bmi!

On the plus side, this might mean new cards - and this time they might think to put the airline name on the front of them!
[But on the downside, steadfast refuse-to-check dragons will use the excuse it is a oneworld airline when they see the logo....]

How far along are they with the fleet repaint programme?

This is just insanity, you've got an airline hardly anyone knows about, so they will now end up like oneworld logo jets.....

G-MEDF and G-MEDH are the only MEDs with the old paint, with G-MEDG re-entering service yesterday with new seats and repainted.

G-STRY, G-WWBD and G-MIDX to be repainted AFAIK.
