As of 2/12/14: We've had quite a few "Hey, come use this AWD. It's great" type of posts. When the AWD doesn't give a good discount, but is only posted to try to get renters to use the AWD of someone so the poster can earn free days from their Avis Corporate account. From here out, please put the company/trade group/etc that's associated with the AWD or we'll delete the post to keep it on-topic here.

No, codes starting with 'Z' are assigned for corporations who sign up for the Avis Corporate Awards Program. All of these people shilling their code are basically looking for others to book with it so they get certificates for free rental days. For every 15 rental days, they receive a certificate good for 1 free rental day.
My company is signed up for the Small Business/Avis Corporate Awards program, and my AWD starts with a J

I tried this E153702 and it told me that it was restricted and I could not use it on the website. I tried the US site and it worked but was twice as dear for my Italian reservation than the promotions that exist at the moment.
I found it all a bit strange

Help!
I just rented a compact at the following:
Mexico DF - Campos Eliseos - ME4
Friday, November 22, 2013 @ 09:30 AM to
Monday, November 25, 2013 @ 08:00 AM
With the legitimate code C078400 it came out to $113.16 USD. I'm looking at another 5-8 USD per day for only being 24.
It does not specify how much 3rd party liability is granted, but when I tried to book the same Avis itinerary through my credit card, it said that it covers for 750,000 MXN. I am hoping this still applies, as I declined additional liability insurance. I also declined LDW as I am using this credit card:
http://www.tdcanadatrust.com/product...tures-benefits
Now, I do have some questions I hope can be answered.
1. Did I do good by declining SLI/LDW? It seems that I already have LDW, and SLI seems unnecessary as 750,000 MXN (which I hope is included) should cover 3rd party liabilities, which I hope not to incur...
2. Is there any coupon I can use to shave off some cost or add features? I'm only interested in legit coupons (costco, etc) as I don't want the hassle of explaining why my LDW is covered by the corporate policy of some company I don't work for...
3. Any general advice about the price/policy/etc? Hoping to have a hassle-free trip. Also...I read somewhere that Avis allows spouses to be registered as 2nd driver for free, but I can't find that anywhere in my small print.
Thanks!

What is code E153702 can I use it? It knocks over 2/3rds off a UK booking next month, this seems too good to be true? Has anyone used this code, did you have any problems?

AWD E153702 gives a very big discount outside of USA. I used it successfully in SCL in 2012, SYD & ZRH in 2013. No id requested from me on those occasions. It was advertised in ABC Madrid in 1986 for the general public. It may now be an Avis employee discount code according to some posts. ID once asked for from an FT poster at LHR. Posted on FT 10/10/2013: Tried to use this code in SYD today and was refused, as they asked for ID, so they may be tightening up, however I was served by the manager, so this may also have something to do with it.
