As of 2/12/14: We've had quite a few "Hey, come use this AWD. It's great" type of posts. When the AWD doesn't give a good discount, but is only posted to try to get renters to use the AWD of someone so the poster can earn free days from their Avis Corporate account. From here out, please put the company/trade group/etc that's associated with the AWD or we'll delete the post to keep it on-topic here.

And he's only posted 5 times ever on FT.

Sounds like an affinity code that he gets credit for when you use it.

You mean that it is possible to ask Avis to generate a special AWD number for someone, which gets a nominal discount, but also pays the person who had Avis issue the AWD to them?

Exactly. If we can't get proof otherwise, it's most likely just a code (s)he gets credit for every use on

As I recently found out (after searching about another post), one can get their own AWD for "their" company and get a free rental day coupon with every 15 rentals. Not great, but better than nothing! The rates don't seem to be at a discount but it's something I'll take! Avis corporate rewards website

The code I used was A972200. It was in Toronto at the Dundas Street W location near Runnymede.

The code maybe be for Zurich Insurance. I believe that is what the agent said but had difficulty understanding him.

He definitely said ..... insurance. Not Deloitte however he could have been just saying whatever came to his mind. Google said it is Farmers Insurance. Can't be that because that is what I said and he said no not correct.

Looking for a month-long rental one way from SFO-LAX in July-August. The much beloved HP rate seems to have begun charging a per-mile rate which makes this no longer economical. Any suggestions from the group?

A972200 is for Farmer's/Zurich Insurance, and it is hard to get stung by that one, since it is for policy holders!

Yes, don't do it, it is not intelligent to do a month long one way rental, since one way charges are DAILY! Get a car for a day or two one way, if possible, then return it when you get where you are going to, again, if possible, so as to stop the one way charges, and get a local rental to drive around for the rest of the month, which you will return to the same location, so as not to incur the punitive one way charges. Understand or do you have questions?

Try code X400270. I am on the executive board for this company and looked up July 1 to August 1. There seems to be no one way charge and our rate doesn't charge per mile. There is also no young driver fee if that matters at all. Anyone in this group is free to use the code as much as they would like.

Actually, I put in the same dates from SFO returning SFO and got the same rate as SFO-LAX.

The best luck I've had with One Ways is A442100. Unlimited mileage. Best prices.

What company is that for, in case we are ever asked?

That seems to be the winner so far but it only takes it down from $719 to 690. What company is this?
