As of 2/12/14: We've had quite a few "Hey, come use this AWD. It's great" type of posts. When the AWD doesn't give a good discount, but is only posted to try to get renters to use the AWD of someone so the poster can earn free days from their Avis Corporate account. From here out, please put the company/trade group/etc that's associated with the AWD or we'll delete the post to keep it on-topic here.

anyone have any 1 way codes for Europe? Looking to go Paris to Brussels 4-22 return 4-25. Avis CSR quoted around $475 using K444404(found upthread - CSR said it was for Marquee Chairman's Club??). I think we will take train from Paris to Brugges then get the car as it is only $99 ai for the same days. Does not have to be Avis though if anyone has other suggestions.
On the other hand, there's usually no drop charge returning in a different city in Europe as long as it's in the same country.

Gosh, the rates at Big Island are astronomically high! Most other AWDs produce a $300+ weekly compact all in price tag!
This worked well for OGG in July.
Just used the A679100 Hawaii Bar Assn and WOW what a savings, 50% off so I booked it. Do these guys ever ask for proof? I have to pretend to be a lawyer?

Check out Alamo. I booked from Amsterdam to Paris on a 1-way rental with Alamo because it was light years cheaper than anything I could find with the other rental car agencies. It's worth a look-see. I tried many codes garnered from FT and Alamo's rates with no code at all beat all.

Unless something has recently changed, it has always been extremely expensive to rent a car in one European country and return it to another. Basically, it's un-doable except in extreme cases.

Cross-border rentals in Europe are different than between US states because they're separate countries with their own import laws. It's not like a NC car in Atlanta, for instance, where nobody cares as long as the vehicle is on rent most of the time.
Hertz-transfer.eu has a list of cars that need to be repatriated. FT members in the Hertz forum have said using it gives the regular rate without the usual separate drop fee.

Germany Coupons or discount codes? Pick up Munich
Looking to rent in Germany, pick up Munich, drop off Frankfurt in September. Are there any coupons or codes that might offer lower rates? In Munich, I understand if we pick up in town vs. the airport, rates can be cheaper. Any recommendations on which location in in Munich to pick up?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Picking up from the airport seems to incur a 20% service charge, which is steep, but worth it if you're doing FIFO, I suppose.

Don't do it, I got nailed at the end of my vacation for FULL price of vehicle. They relish in catching K444404 users at the END of your vacation. Use the local car rental agency everyone recommends on Tripadvisor forum for T/C for the best price.
