As of 2/12/14: We've had quite a few "Hey, come use this AWD. It's great" type of posts. When the AWD doesn't give a good discount, but is only posted to try to get renters to use the AWD of someone so the poster can earn free days from their Avis Corporate account. From here out, please put the company/trade group/etc that's associated with the AWD or we'll delete the post to keep it on-topic here.

I used the A972200 code twice more for my 1 day and some change hours rental in April and another upcoming in June in OAK, and once again, reduced rate of approximately 50%.

Best code I've found yet for OAK rentals.

Yes, that's amazing. I just used it for LAS - LGB, nearly 70% off total price.

Would President's Club or Chairman's still get an upgrade with this one?

Just saw this coupon code:

Save $25 off your one-way rental with Avis:
MUWA193

Tried it for a rental I need from BUF to ROC, and seems to take the coupon fine - although it says discount will be deducted after the rental is complete.

What is AVIS discount code A686200 ??

Hi all,
I made a car rental reservation on Priceline with AVIS and on the confirmation page it showed this discount code: A686200.
I am pretty sure I didn't inserted it but it is showed on the reservation and priceline tells me to confirm it before getting at the counter.

Since I got a TERRIFIC discount (!!) I am worried the AVIS counter will ask for a discount card corresponding to the code which obviously I don't have..

Do you guys know what type of code A686200 is?
Is it a code that priceline inserts autonomously or do I have to show a discount/corporate card?

Please help!
Thanks in advance,
Emanuele

That just means the reservation was booked on priceline- no card/other documentation required.

Try X602000 or X602090, they both work for me and sometimes give good rates. YMMV

I believe this is a safe AWD. It is associated with Priceline, where you booked your car rental.

Chairman's Club gets upgrades with any code, and I would think that President's Club would be the same. I know of no reason why upgrades would not be given for CC and PC.

I would call them and ask, but I would not necessarily ask the question that way. In other words, I would not ask the question "Am I getting a discount for being underage?" I would just ask "What discount am I getting for the number that I gave?"

Is there any way to make this discount work without the daily mileage cap + 25 cents per additional mile?

Many, if not most, codes are either country or continent specific, so a coupon code intended for use in the USA or North America would probably not work in Switzerland or Europe, however, this is not definite, since there are some coupon codes which work worldwide. HOWEVER, AWD numbers (see below) are WORLDWIDE, hence AWD = Avis Worldwide Discount number

Also, keep in mind, AWD numbers (begin with ONE letter, usually A, K, W, X) are corporate/association discount numbers (such as for IBM employees, Hilton customers, or National Association of Trial Lawyers members), and are totally different from COUPON codes (begin with three or more often FOUR letters, usually MUWA, MUAA, MUGA, TUWA).

AWD numbers, which are corporate or association PRE-NEGOTIATED rates, may be used together or without with COUPON codes (which are publicly available), and vice versa, ALTHOUGH, some AWD numbers are incompatible with some COUPON codes. Finally, most COUPON codes have expiration, or use before, dates.

YMMV and use this information at your own risk if you do not know what AWD numbers or coupon codes you are using!
