Never seen a Denali anything on the Avis lots. The Suburbans/Tahoes/Yukons that I've seen are very well equipped (all leather, sunroof, DVD player, forward collision warning, heated seats, some cooled seats, etc) but I haven't paid attention to the trim packages (LT/LTZ/etc).

if i get an upgrade ill be happy but expect the sonata then!

Have received both Suburban LT and currently in a Yukon XL SLT.
Both were well equipped with many additional optional packages purchased.

Looking to swap for C7 Corvette, any thoughts of having any kind of chance
swapping at the location if they were to have one at the time? Generally
the Ghibli are more expensive to reserve VS the C7.

Never seen a Vette at Boston but I've not been there a ton. If the Ghibli is more and you want the Vette, why not reserve a Vette?

I was in Boston last month. One C7 Vette and Two Maseratis were parked right at the Preferred counter in the garage

Anyone know what's available at IAD for a Premium SUV?

I saw upthread that it's mostly Yukon XL and Suburban (which is fine) which are nicely equipped, but I've seen that SEA has a lot of Expedition ELs, anyone try both out?

Anyone know what's on the lot these days at IAD? Renting mid-september.

I personally prefer the Expedition EL to the GM products. They tend to be loaded, and they all now have the twin turbo Eco-Boost from the F150. Very quiet, rides well and tons of power.

Can't comment on exactly what IAD will have, but IMHO, I MUCH prefer the GM products over the Fords. The GM's have more options (collision warning, lane departure, etc. on the ones I've rented) and seem to drive better. The Fords feel very outdated and feel bulkier when driving. However, everyone's preference is different so if you have the option, it might be worth sitting in each before driving off.

Thanks for the feedback. I will see if I can bump up one of my free upgrades into one of those huge SUVs during the weeks leading up.

As a Briton, I dint find GM facials to be any form of work of art, actually looking very ugly and 1970s era, at least Ford are good interiors, easy to navigate with some style.

But I'm on vacation, so a Chevvy Tahoe will be amusing to my normal rides (Range Rover Sport and Volvo XC90, are mine)

IAD has the following that i've seen

  • Escalade (i've seen two in the lot at the same time)
  • Navigator
  • Suburban (only seen one actually)
  • Mercedes GL400 (they have two)
  • Tahoe (they have multiple)
  • BMW X5 (only seen this once - so it gets rented often)

Good thing about IAD is that they really do take care of you at preferred, so they'll tell you whats available and you can pick from that, or if you ask, they'll upgrade you usually without hesistation.
