NOTE: This thread has been superseded by the thread entitled LM F and J routes (and the occasional trick-it) Rebooted v2.0. Please follow the discussion there.

Region definitions
C1 North America
C1.5 Caribbean, Bermuda
C2 Europe
C2.5 Middle East
C3 Asia
C4 South America
C5 Africa
C6 Oceania

2X, 3X: in the context of this LifeMiles thread, 2X and 3X refer to any 2nd and 3rd legs of a one-way award ticket.

LifeMiles' Star Alliance Award Chart

Cash & Miles redemptions: buying the max (60%) isn't always the best deal (unless you're purchasing all miles right there). Check here for the best CPM.

Beware of Cabotage: LifeMiles has been known to issue tickets that constitute Cabotage, and at least one instance of denied boarding has been reported, stranding the passenger. An easily-seen example is travel on Copa from LAX to SJU (via PTY).

No, I'm looking for a "modified" routing, to save some miles.

I would say right now you're not going to find one, simply because of the lack of Star hubs in that region more than anything else.

I'm with you regarding C1.5 but also C4?

Unfortunately, I think C4 might be hard - it's their home base and I'd think they spent a little bit of time correctly classifying airports in it

Hmmm, having been more of a USDM'er in the past but looking for future alternatives, i think i'm going to have a lot of trouble figuring out any of these clues...

i don't even know which zones the C1, C6 thing refers to...

Thanks guys... Bought 10,000 LM tonight (x2)... Think i have a reasonable cheap price getting from C3-C3 but having to miss a flight or so, nothing special as think its just a normal routing option so no blinding light of inspiration to pass on... Might do this early next year... Harder to do the reverse on the way back without a positioning flight out to the back blocks...

Have to keep looking for these airports that people think are not in their correct continental zone i am guessing...

There's so little availability C/F for C1-C6 (no tricks inferred)...

Sadly it has. I was looking to go from cannibal island to chocolate and, due to the necessary stomachache I would have developed from cannibalismm, hop off for some sausages on the way... but alas, not to be.

Hi low guys, very interesting C6-C3 pricing which could be very lucrative if you could turn it into a C6-C1, but booking overnights with LM is such a b*****.
