I'm guessing that I'll get Quadra seats on the first flight, but not on the other, correct?
yes, that is correct.

By the way, does anyone know what the overall retrofit plan is like for OZ's long haul fleet?
Are they going to finish installing QS seats on the remaining 777s?
What about other wide bodies like the A330s?
Are they going to install any additional new F suites?
OZ seems way too slow with their retrofit process.

My understanding is that OZ just doesn't have the aircraft to spare to fill in for others that are out of service for retrofits, especially after their SFO crash.

And the old non-QS 777s are also non-AVOD, meaning the retrofit would take more time as it's not just the seating, but also the AVOD system that needs to be refitted.

maybe when the new a380s come online for OZ next year, they'll be able to standardise their equipment across the board for the 777s. i hope so, as i fly the SYD-ICN route a lot, and would much rather the QS seat

My guess is A330 will probably leave alone as they will be replace by A350 anyway from 2016, OZ has 30 A350 on order, it will cover the current 13 of A330 and 8 of the 763.

There are only 3 long haul routes have F, JFK already running with F suites, LAX and FRA are using 744 will be replaced by 380 anyway, and 380 most likely will be delivered with F suites, so no need to install F suites on any existing plane at all.

Ugh. I'm booked in F suites on Christmas this year, but checkmytrip is showing it as a 747 rather than the 772 (including the 747 seat map). Does that mean there's a planned equipment swap on that day? Will be really ticked off if that's the case...

Did you log in at checkmytrip.com? It shows the plane type, seat map, and seat assignments. My seat assignments changed due to the new config, which looks to be pretty reliable indicator that the swap is real...

They changed system awhile back and the old reservation numbers were thrown out. My OZ confirmation code is now the same as my SQ, BR, and TG codes for the same ticket.

I checked seatmaps on the new OZ site and it looks like one of the two 777s is being pulled off the JFK route around Christmas...OZ 221 from JFK to ICN on Dec 23/25/27 are all operated by a 747, while Dec 24/26 are still on the 777. Didn't check any further than that.
