The new international terminal has been in operation for several months now and the immigration queues aren't as bad as they used be.
There's still a lot of construction work going on, the place isn't finished yet. The old intl. terminal is being converted into the new domestic terminal.

Anyone arrived from AUS with Jetstar into the new DPS airport yet? Just wondering if there's a short or long distance from the gates to VOA/Immigration as I'm going in at the end of next week and can't walk long distances (particularly after a flight), so although we'll be fairly quick off the plane we'll probably get stampeded walking to VOA ... trying to decide if using the VIP service would be advantageous, as Jetstar can't seem to 'guarantee' any form of assistance! Thanks

We were just informed that the VIP arrival services has been "suspended indefinitely"... has anyone had success lately and if so from which provider?

What's the current status of Immigration and Customs expediting?
I used it once or twice after the new terminal opened, but recent reports indicate it is no longer possible.

During the 90 miserable minutes I waited in line at immigration yesterday I only saw one family get expedited. There may have been others I did not see but it would have been rare. I inquired with my hotel about expediting and they told me they still aren't able to start doing it again.

We found some guy by the VOA desk and gave him $20 each to get us to the front of the line.... felt like total jerks doing it. The regular line for immigration was at least an hour at that point... 3 pm arrival is a terrible time to queue -- all the big planes land then.

contact www.voabali.com
they are the company I have always used for VIP service in the old airport.
These days I do not need to use anyone, as I fly Garuda Executive Class from Sydney.
Garuda offers a service on these flights where you pay for your VOA at checkin, and then an Imigrasi officer comes thru the aircraft after the meal service, stamps you into Indonesia, and you get a laminated card like a boarding pass which says , cleared Immigration.
You just walk thru the crew line, hand it in, without stopping and go direct to baggage claim.
Worth flying Garuda if you are in the Sydney area just for this service

What's the Immigration situation like around 8:00 pm when the KLM flight arrives?
Not sure what other flights are arriving around that time.

Its before the evening peak of flights arriving from Australia and Japan - so should be fairly good.
But with the constant stream of LCC its always hard to judge.
I have tried to work it out by checking the arrivals a week before - so you get the correct schedule, and arrived expecting a heaving mess - only to find a few people in the immigration line up from the previous flight and thru in just a few minutes.
I have heard the VIP is suspended at the moment, not sure if it was due to Jokowi innauguration today or some other even taking place in Bali -but I bet its back working in a few days, its a great money earner - and I am sure all the Immigrasi workers are getting a cut of it.
I believe it is why the lines are so slow - the slower the lines the more people pay for the service, the more they all earn
Same same but different - in Asia - thats how it works

also available for flights from Japan (NRT, KIX), Korea (ICN), and China (PVG)
*my first post though i joined a year ago

I checked the Bali Fast Forward website today and it seems they are not in business any longer. Does anybody have a recent experience with them?
Going there in two weeks, really appreciated their services.

Tourist Visa potentially free ?
Here's a turn-up for the books.
For these countries (Australia, China, Japan, South Korea and Russia) possible free tourist Visa's from Jan next year.
Well, that's one queue we can dodge.

The lineup was not to pay for the visa, but to clear immigration and they had the queue tape rolled out forever, fortunately we went through within 15 minutes.
