6 days Kuala Lumpur

I visited Kuala Lumpur around 1998:
- KL Tower
- Jamek Mosque
- Sultan Abdul Samad Building
- and some other Hindu temples + Mosques

Maybe it was only me, but I missed some centre with "local flair" - much more Western compared to Hong Kong or Bangkok. I'll give it another try and visit KL again. What not so miss to get a more "traditional" view of KL?
(This time I will go to Batu Caves for sure.)

Additionally where are some evening/night hot spots with authentic food?

Changkat in Bukit Bintang for Happy Hour (seriously, go here.) Jalan Alor (food street) for a food experience....within walking distance of Changkat, conveniently. If you like chicken wings, the Wong Ah Wah Famous Chicken Wings are actually pretty good, if a bit overhyped. (Buy some wet wipes at 7-11 for after dinner.)

Go to the mall attached to Petronas Towers and watch the "dancing water show" at night....wait until it's after sunset because the light show that accompanies the water fountains makes it a much better experience. There are several watering holes (I like the Irish Pub....Malones?) right across from the man made lake/pond for good viewing.

I've been to KL several times and find it a bit sterile; lots of shopping malls, hotels, and skyscrapers.

Some more suggestions:

1) Join the FREE guided tour courtesy of KL Tourism Bureau:

[IMG][/IMG]

[IMG][/IMG]

2) Check out the Tun Abdul Razak Heritage Park where there are more than 10 attractions located close to each other within this park:

3) Check out the Malaysia Tourism Centre (Matic) where you can watch the FREE cultural performance that is held at 3pm, Mon-Sat. You also can try the Batik painting, shop some local crafts and souvenirs:

http://www.matic.gov.my/en/

4) Watch MUD: Kuala Lumpur, a musical theatre about the history of Kuala Lumpur city. It is performed twice daily at 3pm & 8:30pm in the historical City Theatre-Panggung Bandaraya building in Merdeka Square. (It is a bit similar to the famous London Dungeon):

http://mudkl.com/the-show/

5) If you would like to see/do many things within a day, then you should go to KL Tower where you can experience modernity, tradition and nature all at the same time. The latest attraction of the KL Tower is the "Skybox", a fully glass deck located at the most top of the tower. There are also a mini zoo, aquarium, HD Motion Theatre and forest reserve equipped with a long canopy walk located there. Every day, there will be a cultural performance performed at the lobby of the tower:

https://www.menarakl.com.my/

6) Visit to Kuala Lumpur Craft Complex where you can experience batik & ceramic paintings or shop high quality Malaysian-made crafts and textiles:

http://www.kraftangan.gov.my/en/craf...craft-complex/

7) Visit to Rumah Penghulu Abu Seman, a traditional Malay house which located in the middle of the city that already over 100 years old:

https://badanwarisanmalaysia.org/vis...ulu-abu-seman/

8) Visit to Kampong Bharu (Kampung Baru), 1 of the last surviving traditional village in KL where you can find many beautiful ancient houses and a lot of stalls/restaurants to eat at a very cheap price

Maybe you've been there before, but I'd head to Penang rather than spend six days in KL; I don't think KL has gotten more interesting over time.

ONE day is enough for KL, can't imagine what one can do there for a week.

Good advice - to to Penang, but more than three days there are also too much.

You are not a KLite nor an expert of the destination... Please dont talk too much like you are representing my city.

Excuse me, do I need to get a permission from you before I say something about Kuala Lumpur? Did I get it right?

I agree with invisible. Spend maybe a day in KL, then head up to Penang. There are frequent cheap flights or train takes ~4 hours. Six days isn't quite enough to fit in a third place so I'd just stick to those two.

I spent a week in KL and don't recall getting bored. For a 1-2 day trip you could also consider Melaka.

Thanks for your suggestions.

(I need to stay in KL as I also have some business meetings.)

I'm also interested in some natural visits. Any recommendations for
1.) Jungle / Forest (+ some walks but should be doable regarding humidity + high temperature in January)
2.) Cameron Highlands + tea plantation (maybe using a taxi to get there?)
