I've never had a problem with KL taxi drivers I've used.

The only problems I've seen are with ones which wait outside tourist attractions who want ridiculous fixed fares.
Every time I've flagged down a passing taxi, they've used the meter with no issues. The fare has always been very cheap too. Which isn't the case in Singapore.

There should have been a comma there rather than a full stop.

Though it's quite clear I was talking about it not being cheap.

'Cheap' is relative, not absolute measure.

Uber rides in Malaysia (as I said - no idea about taxi because I refuse to use them in Malaysia) are about 2x cheaper than in Singapore.

At the same time taxi in Brazil, in Porto Alegre last november were double rates of Singapore. And in US (before Uber became mainstream) a ride from SFO to Sunnyvale was $130 without tip. Almost same distance trip in Singapore after midnight costs now SIN $35 via taxi or $23 via Uber.

How much cheaper should they be? You are comparing one of the most expensive cities in the world to live in vs a city that is now where near Singapore in cost of living as a comparison as to the cost of taxis?

Bizzare.
