Still no sign of any infrastructure for collecting fees in the immigration hall.

My overnight flight from IAD was full of Argentino teenagers apparently returning from an Aspen ski trip

¡Dios mío no! When I saw the large number of argenteenagers asking the gate agent for seats together I asked for an upgrade.^ So I avoided the tira bolas in back! :D

Agreed. That statement might have been plausible in 2002 (if one were a shoestring backpacker), but now, not so much.

Also, I paid no fee as of March 20, 2009, nor did I see any signs of the infrastructure being set up to collect such a fee at EZE.

Ah.... you know the tira bolas...? Good for you that you know the term... however, please note that you are using it incorrectly. Tira bolas are folks that will perhaps see snow once in their lifetime.... kids from Argentina that ski in the USA are skiing just as much as the average European kid (except perhaps the Austrians).

I thought that they might just be getting practice for their end-of-school-year trip to Bariloche :) (I have several tira bolas as friends in CF)

Any News????

Since it is April 2nd, I wonder if anyone can give an answer regarding whether the fee was collected starting April 1st. We fly in to BA on April 8th and hope the fee has not been imposed.

I arrived on the 29th in the evening and there was no apparent infrastructure set up for any sort of fee payment.

My guess is that this is not going to be implemented, at least not for the next few months.... ^

Visa Fee may be imposed now because of this and increased.

Christina may impose double the fee for U.S. citizens since Obama ignored her.

That is some revealing video. But I think the announcers got the story wrong. The fact is when Cristina saw there was no suitcase to grab a hold of -- she quickly pulled back her hand.

The NY Times has an interesting article in today's paper which contrasts the current era from that of twenty years ago. Is it mostly nostalgia or pretty accurate?
