The rib eye (ojo de bife?) was cooked perfect med rare and the salad was a most delicious match (lightest, tastiest dressing ever).

Also, as a bonus, the weather was extraordinary - clear skies and mild temps.

Looking forward to my next trip to BA already :-)
Glad you enjoyed lunch... and thank you for sharing that amazing bottle of Verite !!!! ^

Do come back and let us know how the wines are drinking after you take your first bottle for the team.....

Vegetarian restaurants in BA?

Ok ... I recognize this might be a very long shot, but worth asking

I found a few listings, but wanted to see if there are places that are particularly good/worth visiting.

Depending on how strict you are with your Vegetarian dishes, you will find that most places in EZE have items on most menus that would qualify as vegetarian.... its only if you get overy technical or overly complicated (Vegan, etc.) that things get tough... else, you should be good to go.

Ah... implanted. Gives for an interesting perspective I guess... then again, what does a Gringa know about Asado de Tira and Postre Vigilante...???

I mean, by strict Portenio standards she should just go "lavar los Platos"....

**ducking**

Just kidding.... have just read through the blog and she seems to know here way around the F&B scene in the city. Feels like a resource worth considering.... ^

Well, you'd be lucky to read anything knowledgeable from a Porteņo concerning vegetables (excepting papas y zapallo). Even then, the papas would probably be deep fried in lard, so probably not vegetarian

We will be visiting Buenos Aires with Brazilian friends in August and are seeking out some restaurant recommendations. We are particularly interested in help with a non-Brazilian style steak house, in the sense of non-rodizio and real Argentine-style cuts of beef with Argentine seasoning and cooking. Beef here in Brazil has been getting much tastier and tender in recent years, so it might be a real challenge to find better in Argentina. On past visits to BA we have been to La Cabrera, Rio Alba, Cabana Las Lilas, Don Julio, and La Brigada. They are all excellent, although there were so many Portuguese speaking tables near us that we felt we had not left Rio. In the end, we did not find these places to offer anything far superior to what we could get here in a top-end churrascaria. Any recommendations would be most welcome!

You have been to various of the places that are on proper shortlist, here are some to consider in addition....

- La Cabania (this is not Las Lilas)
- Le Grill
- The Grill at the Plaza Hotel (ex Marriott Plaza)
- La Dorita
- La Raya

The first three names above are high-end options, the latter two are more everyday down to earth options that locals would normally go to.
