Radom Q. Do you all think that the metal cards issued after the refresh will have the same numbers? One issue is to keep our autopay bills, but the other issue is that I would love to be able to keep my card and give the Rose Gold to my wife for her restaurant spend vs getting her own account.
I requested a duplicate card for my Chase Sapphire Reserve that she currently uses for us to pool that spend and points earn without paying the AU fee. No restaurant has ever asked for her id when she has paid the bill.

It said that a card with the exact same number would be sent so you shouldn't need to change autopay stuff, though I would assume maybe the security code would be different? It didn't say anything about that.
Looks like the website has a few small IT issues on the benefits page still, but I assume it'll get ironed out as the roll out goes on. Pretty excited about this, I'll be using the heck out of this card now.
Looks like, right now, rose gold will require chatting with customer service. It wouldn't let me select it on the website when I requested a new metal card. Hopefully I can do it for my wife, she loves rose gold something fierce.

Just stumbled upon the 50K offer and thought I apply. I got the pop-up saying I'm not eligible. I only have applied for one card in the last 2 years (AMEX BBP). I'm not a chunner. Seems AMEX shouldn't broadly advertise these offers if they aren't going to honor them.

I added an Amex Offer for 2x points at the Olive Garden a while ago. With the new changes, does that mean I will earn 5 points per dollar?
Also, does anyone know if seamless.com and grubhub.com count as dining (4x)?

At first I thought this was a mistake, but the Terms, Conditions & Disclosures page on the product reflects this same $195 / $250 discrepancy based on the color of the card.
Am I missing something here? It seems unlike Amex to charge a higher annual fee just for a different card design.
Edit: it's showing $250 everywhere now. Must've been a glitch.

For all those who applied with the 50K no AF first year, we are locked in even if we order the Rose Gold card for AU, right?

The terms of this card explicitly exclude gift card purchases from earning bonus points. I expect American Express would not have capped the category at $25,000 if they were not confident that they could detect a high proportion of gift card purchases.
You will earn one point for each dollar charged for an eligible purchase in each billing period on The American Express Gold Card. You will earn: 3 additional points (for a total of 4 points) for each dollar charged at restaurants located in the U.S.; 3 additional points (for a total of 4 points) on the first $25,000 of eligible purchases per calendar year at supermarkets located in the U.S. (superstores and warehouse clubs are not considered supermarkets); and 2 additional points (for a total of 3 points) for airfare on a scheduled flight charged directly with passenger airlines (charter flights and private jet flights are excluded) and airfare charged directly with amextravel.com. To earn additional points for a restaurant purchase, the purchase must be at a restaurant located in the United States. You will NOT earn additional points for purchases made at a restaurant owned by a U.S. company but located outside the U.S. (e.g. Hard Rock Café in Paris). You may not earn additional points for purchases at a restaurant located within another establishment (e.g. a restaurant inside a hotel, casino, or event venue). For example, purchases made at a restaurant located within a hotel may be recognized as a purchase at a hotel, not a restaurant. You also will NOT earn additional points for purchases at nightclubs and convenience stores. Eligible purchases are purchases for goods and services minus returns and other credits. Eligible purchases do NOT include fees or interest charges, purchases of gift cards, purchases of travelers checks, purchases or reloading of prepaid cards, or purchases of other cash equivalents. Additional terms and restrictions apply. Merchants are assigned codes based on what they primarily sell. A purchase will not qualify for additional points if the merchant's code is not eligible. Purchases made through a third-party payment account or on an online marketplace (with multiple retailers) will not qualify for additional points. A purchase may not qualify for additional points if the merchant submits the purchase using a mobile or wireless card reader or if you use a mobile or digital wallet.

I view it the opposite way, they would not have capped it if they could detect gift card purchases. Seems like a bad move on AMex's part, cutting out a huge volume of MS while increasing points to non-MS'ers. Unless they are losing money on MS purchases.

I just saw this mentioned on DOC as well. Very excited about this and glad I jumped the gun last week. This looks to be a great card for my "lifestyle" and I think with this I will probably be switching most of my spend over to Amex. Benefits are already showing and I was able to enroll in the dining credit (which I will be using today for lunch!)
