Qualifying Small Business
Qualifying small merchant locations appear on the Shop Small® Map (including the searchable directory), available at shopsmallnow.americanexpress.com. Please note that the merchants listed on the Shop Small® Map may change. In addition, business location and other information provided on the Shop Small Map may contain inaccuracies or errors as a result of information provided by third parties. Purchases with political campaigns or political action committees as well as purchases at gas or service stations do not qualify, regardless of whether they appear on the Shop Small Map.
Purchases
Purchases may fall outside of the offer period in some cases (and therefore not qualify for the offer), such as a delay in merchants submitting transactions to us or if the purchase date differs from the date you made the purchase. (For example, if you buy goods online, the purchase date may be the date the goods are shipped) Additional Card Members on your account are not eligible to enroll in this offer, but you earn 2X Rewards for qualifying purchases made by any Additional Card Members on your account. Fulfillment

Small Business Saturday was never about rewarding cardholders, it is about driving sales for small merchants, and apparently it has had some success:

Of course, it takes away most of the advantage of Small Business Saturday. $60 cashback was great in 2014: 3x $10 on each of my 2 Amex cards. While I respect the concept, now it's just another day to me. OTOH, I actually like this year's version because the bonuses may be earned over a 2.5-month period vs. on only one day.

If AU uses his/her card while primary is enrolled, will it get additional points?
I've got SPG promo to add AU and spend $1000 to get 2500 points, so I'm thinking using in on Plastiq to get a small business additional point.

I've also confirmed this from looking at my own Membership Rewards balance. Purchases made with the AU card are earning 2x.

I've found that a lot of the parking lots at or near North Carolina courthouses count for this so I've been getting a lot of double points that way. How odd.

In every previous year of the SBS promotion, various folks claimed that Internet purchases were ineligible, and every year I have earned the bonus from Internet purchases of gift cards at my favorite coffee shop.
CSRs don't always have correct answers.

Any idea how to get missing points? I made a few purchases from small businesses that were on the map and no bonus has posted. Statement has closed. Other bonuses have posted (even before statement closed). None of the CSR's have a clue.

Pkerr, log in to your Amex account & click on the "Statements" tab at top. Eligible "small business transactions" will show the 'dot in circle with downward pointer' logo.
