Using my Hilton Aspire Card I purchased a $50 DL GC on 2/5, I was credited on 2/7.
My Amex Plat BC card on 2/1 GC ($50) has not yet credited. The agent I spoke with said I should wait until 2/15 for them to do a manual adjustment.

What did you say to get that response? All I’ve gotten from Amex is that I should wait 2-4 weeks.

The agent said I should wait until 2/15 (2 weeks) since they need that much time before they can begin a "manual" credit request.
It seems that 2/1 may be the "common denominator". I don't think that Amex has stopped crediting GCs--as I noted above I got a DL GC credited for my Hilton Amex Aspire card for a 2/5 transaction.
In the SW thread 1/31 may be an issue for them.
PS: I have a 2nd DL GC still pending, assuming that clears, it might be easier to just buy another GC than trying to get a "manual" credit.

As a DP, I purchased 2 x $50 gift cards with my amex gold on 2/8 and received the credit the next day.

Thanks. I will reach to them on the 15, then.

Well, someone reported today on the AA thread that their GC was coded as Gift Certificate.

I purchased 4x $50 DL GCs on 1/16, 1/23, 1/28 and 2/1 for each of these (whose details look identical except for the ref #) the description states: "travel - airline" (NO mention of GC). All but 2/1 were reimbursed promptly.

Here's my data point for the AMEX Business Platinum card:
  • 1/29/19: Purchased 4x $50 Delta gift cards (did it as one transaction but for 4 x $50).
  • 1/30/19: 4 separate transactions for $50 had posted to my AMEX account
  • 2/1/19: 4 separate $50 "AMEX Airline Fee Reimbursement" posted to my AMEX account.

As stated above, it does seem to be an issue with those purchased on Feb 1, for some reason. I also purchased 2x$50 GCs on Feb 1 across two different AMEX accounts and both are unreimbursed (yet).

I do notice that they are marked as Passenger Tickets (although I am not sure if that is how they always listed)

My datapoint from 1/23 post and 1/25 credit on my personal Plat looks the same:

Passenger Name: PASSENGER/DELTA
Ticket Number: 00xxxxxx
Document Type: PASSENGER TICKET
Category: Travel - Airline

FYI

It's odd, some people are reporting actual airline tickets receives a credit now (but gift cards don't???) ... any DPs since after 2/1 on that?

fennter Feb 14, 2019 7:10 am

Reached out to AmEx customer service today about the 2/1 credits, and was advised to wait another 2 weeks.

You only get reimbursed when the actual airline tickets are partially paid with a DL gift card, and the balance to pay is smallish - because DL coded it as some sort of Fee Collection. Therefore it triggers the credit. Either this thread upthread or the last couple days posts in AA related thread you will see how it works with actual examples.

By no means a straight DL ticket purchased would be reimbursed as airline credit.

DP: Purchased 2x($50) on Aspire on 2/12. Purchases posted 2/14. Airline credit tracker shows $150 left (out of $250), meaning it should be counting toward the credit. Bought the remaining 3($50) tonight.

ktscott01 Feb 15, 2019 9:13 am

Never received my gift card credit from the beginning of the year but did receive part of a flight that I used credit and AMEX to pay.

rjruiz Feb 15, 2019 9:16 am

2/6/19 - purchased (4x $50)
2/7/19 - posted as seperate trasactions
2/8/19 - noticed credit has been used under benefits
2/9/19 - credited

cestmoi123 Feb 15, 2019 9:21 am

Purchased 4x50, saw credit 3 days later.
