I just purchased QTY of 2 $50.00 gift cards on the Delta site. I see an authorization of $100.00. Will this post at $100.00 or $50.00 twice. I imagine the $100.00 charge will not be reimbursed. I have the AMEX Platinum.

Pending authorizations are for the total amount in the shopping cart.
They POST as individual charges of $50 each!!!!

I would hope none of mine fell into that category, that was certainly not my intention. I have no way of knowing.

Purchased two $50 Delta gift cards using the link above on 2/26 (separate transactions) using the lovely AMEX Gold. They posted to my account on 2/27, showing "Delta Air Lines - Atlanta", and the credits posted at the end of the day on 3/1. It was slower than usual, but it still works!

I saw a YouTube video that came out today giving a heads up about Amex possibly taking away the travel credit gift card hack from Delta since they already took it away for American Airlines. Hope this is not true!!

My understanding is that AA had changed the way some GCs were being processed, which affected how they were coded for AmEx. So the change, if memory serves, was on AA’s end, not AmEx’s.

correct. Although its hard to say if AA acted on demand from amex or not. Gonna monitor these thread to see if delta, united, southwest will follow.

My two $50.00 delta gift certificates posted on 3/2/18 and the credits posted on 3/4/18. The credits posted in 2 - $50 increments. I have the Platinum card and still have $100 to go.

Phone agent

No go with using more than 3 gift certificates using the phone agent. Instead they said 3 forms of payment total (so 2 gift certificates and 1 credit card)

That's strange. I was able to use 8, $50 gift cards last week for booking a flight. HUCA perhaps?

You got a phone agent that doesn't know how to do it. There are plenty of data points that show that it can be done.
