Only 3 Amex card applications allowed in 90 days? [USA]
My latest Amex App was instantly cancelled.
The CSR said that one can only be approved for 3 cards in 90 days.
This is new to me.
Does anyone have more information?
Did they still pull my credit?

Please provide data point if anyone in the same situation. My data point supports that:
3/20: Approved for 1 (charge)
4/28: Approved for 2 (both credit)
6/22: Applied, but instantly cancelled. No HP. Reason provided online: Maximum number of cards approved within a time period.
But the thing is 3/20 to 6/22 is over 90 days.

See data-point below for my personal experience... I was approved for 7 in <90 from March thru May (combination of charge and credit cards).

I would call in and ask if they can put the application through, I had a similar situation, called in and got the card. There was no credit pull until I phoned and explained that yes, I wanted and extra card for whatever reason

6/22/15 - amex ameriprise plat - approved
8/31/15 - amex plat - application cancelled
