Only 3 Amex card applications allowed in 90 days? [USA]
 

My latest Amex App was instantly cancelled.
The CSR said that one can only be approved for 3 cards in 90 days.

This is new to me.
Does anyone have more information?

Did they still pull my credit?

more info...well you can always HUCB, but most people around here would not apply for 4 Amex cards within a 90 day period. I would not personally do that with any cc issuer...spread the love around a bit.
HP...just check your CR's and you will have your answer

Please provide data point if anyone in the same situation. My data point supports that:
3/20: Approved for 1 (charge)
4/28: Approved for 2 (both credit)
6/22: Applied, but instantly cancelled. No HP. Reason provided online: Maximum number of cards approved within a time period.

But the thing is 3/20 to 6/22 is over 90 days.

They probably used the last applied date.

It's no more than 2 credit approvals in 90 days. You need 90 days after 4/28...

See data-point below for my personal experience... I was approved for 7 in <90 from March thru May (combination of charge and credit cards).

I would call in and ask if they can put the application through, I had a similar situation, called in and got the card. There was no credit pull until I phoned and explained that yes, I wanted and extra card for whatever reason:)

Canada or USA?

I know in Canada you'll get conditional approval on following apps if you apply within last 3 months. Quick phone call fixes that

How many mobile devices do you have? I have the Amex app installed successfully on three devices.

This thread is talking about applications for new charge/credit cards, not software apps.

7/2 - spg - approved
7/24 - business spg - approved
7/28 - simply cash - denied (too many apps in too short of time)
8/21 - hh surpass - denied (too many apps in too short of time)
8/26 - platinum - approved

I got 3 amex cards approved on the same day..Platinum, Business Gold, and Hilton Amex.

4/2/15 - amex surpass - approved
4/5/15 - amex prg - approved
6/22/15 - amex ameriprise plat - approved

8/31/15 - amex plat - application cancelled

"The reason for our decision is that you have reached the maximum number and type of Cards that we will approve within the period of a few months"

my recent experience:

7/21 spg biz approved
8/25 plat approved
8/25 prg approved
9/14 ed approved after 1 day delay by email
