I used to do this all the time with the $40 breakfast credit (used twice on a one-night stay) with MGM Signature using Chase Fine Hotels, but didn't know this was possible with FHR.

Wait... this is at Delano? You were able to use the $60 credit on check-in date and check-out date?

Back from Encore, where as Flyertalk "promised", booking a Tower Suite yielded a Parlor Suite. Our receptionist (dedicated entrance for Tower Suite guests, by the way) was not forthcoming, she said we were booked in a King Suite, so I asked if an upgrade through FHR was available. A phone call to someone (Housekeeping is my guess), they found one that was ready about 30 minutes later.
LOVED LOVED LOVED the suite. My wife went with the spa (over the salon as I had posted prior to our trip) and spend about 3 hours there, including her massage time. We spent more than $40/pp on breakfast at the buffet because of the Memorial Day "Brunch" pricing; the extra showed up on the bill as "FHR Breakfast Overage". I used the basic internet package, and as such the resort credit was discounted $5/day.

Is there anyone who has not been upgraded ?
it'll be interesting to know how many tower rooms there are vs tower suites ?

Yes! Stayed only 1 night at Delano. Checked into hotel at around 2pm. Was told that Della's Kitchen was already closed for breakfast, but could order from in-suite dining. Ordered $60 worth of munchies for a late afternoon snack. Spent the $100 property credit at the Lago restaurant for dinner. Then on the next (check-out) day, spent $30 at Dellas for breakfast and another $20 at the Beach Bar and Grill. All of this was taken off the final bill (excluding taxes and tip).
Some of the overages (at Lago) other charges (gelato café) were not removed from the bill, but it looks like I received approx $60 on BOTH check-in and check-out days, plus the $100 dinner credit at Lago.

I've had a friend get upgraded only to the Executive Suite on the Wynn side - which is still a nice enough upgrade. I got the Parlor Suite upgrade for my stay at the same time.

Does anyone have experience with how FHR interacts with MLife? I often stay at MBay on a promotion, but the few times I just showed up at casino rate, they end up comping off the resort fees, and some food.
I'm considering swapping to Delano through FHR, but wouldn't want to lose the ability for MLife to comp us if we earn it.

But as it sounds like you already realize, if you have any significant amount of casino play, hotel stay offers from Mlife will often result in a better total value than booking through FHR, even if you count all of the FHR benefits at full $ face value against the FHR room rate.

You can earn Mlife tier credits (and Hyatt points too, if you want) for FHR stays booked at MGM properties. You can also get comps taken off your bill on an FHR stay just the same as any other stay -- I would recommend first making sure that your FHR benefits are all accounted for, and then asking them to check for further comps to apply to your bill, since the process of applying comps always seems a bit random and if the process is reversed there would be a decently high risk that they "comped" you something that the FHR benefits were supposed to cover already.

I figure I'll post some quick math that I've just done, for the sake of the thread: Prior to comps, we were at $370 for two nights on an Mlife.com "Pearl rate" booking. Delano would have been $682 from FHR, but after breakfast and the $100 resort credit, it would have been $462. So < $50/day to get into a Delano room, early check-in, and late arrival -- which Mandalay Bay was charging $40 for the option of. Of course this will also vary with the currently published rates.
Oh and I did qualify for $60 off $300 with MGM from Amex Offers

Thanks for the post. Knowing what you told me, it is at least worth me looking into next time.

Also, FYI for everyone, I just this morning rebooked a Delano stay in October that I had booked a couple of weeks ago as I noticed the rates have gone down (the rates are down for FHR and Mlife bookings alike) -- not sure how wide a range of dates that happened for, but it is worth re-checking any existing reservations anyone has.

Probably better than you think. Lots of folks are already back in school so Labor Day may not be the biggest date out there; plus I think it's before NFL season starts. If not upgraded, you could always volunteer to switch rooms for Monday/Tuesday.

Im interested in this question as well, cause I'd essentially be paying $100/night premium over a non TS room for tower pool and a "chance" of an upgrade if so

I was curious for an answer so I called Wynn reservations. Breakfast is at Tableau only, and is $30. With FHR, you have $40 in value to spend at 7 different resort properties (listed in the Wiki).
