Thumbs up Weekend at Wynn and Delano

Just stayed one night at the Wynn and one night at Delano.

Saturday Wynn rate of $233. Upgraded to a panoramic view room on the top (60th) floor. Used the spa credit at Encore Spa, which doesn't go very far, but that spa is amazing. Breakfast credit completely covered the more expensive Sunday brunch for 2 of us. I love this hotel and the quality has endured over the years.

Sunday Delano rate of $132. Upgraded to 38th floor strip view. The daily $60 credit at Della's couldn't be used when I checked in because it was closed, so used in-room dining for dinner. Then used the $100 resort credit for drinks and dessert at Skyfall Lounge. On check out day, used the breakfast credit at Della's and it covered everything except gratuity.

I love the Wynn, but the Delano is amazing value for the money. I don't know how they make money from this scheme.

Bellagio Trip Report

Bellagio Trip Report

Early Check-in:
Arrived around 12:30pm and the room was ready. I used the normal check-in line, which had a 5-10 minute wait at the time. The FHR overview sheet was the same as previously posted by gar598 (no apparent changes from 2016 to 2017).

Late Check-out:
Checked out around 3:30pm without any pressure from the hotel.

Room:
I booked a Salone Suite for three nights using the 3rd night free promotion. I received a Salone Suite on the far-south end of the Spa Tower. While the view from the Spa Tower is inferior, the room itself was clean and modern. The Spa Tower is a further walk from the strip, but it's located near the tram to City Center.

Dining Credits:
As others mentioned, the "daily breakfast credit" doesn't need to be used daily nor for breakfast; it's simply a blanket credit at certain restaurants. I used it for a solo-trip to the buffet one night, a family-trip to the buffet for dinner another night, and a family-trip to Café Bellagio for lunch. I used the $100 property credit to pick-up the balance.

Alcohol is supposed to be excluded, but my dad ordered the drink package at the buffet and it never showed up on the bill. However, we ordered a round of drinks at Café Bellagio that did make its way onto the bill.

All in all, the dining credits paid for 1 weekend dinner at the buffet ($42), 4 midweek dinners at the buffet (4 x $37), 1 drink package at the buffet ($18), and 4 meals at Café Bellagio (~$80). By my math, I might have gone a little over the $280 I was allotted, but the bill included no costs for any food (the only incidental charged was the drinks at Café Bellagio).

Resort Fee:
Unlike other reports, the resort fee for the complimentary night was, in fact, charged to the bill. I didn't challenge the hotel on this, but maybe I should have. $5/nt was deducted from the resort fee to account for wifi.

Room Bill:
I know this isn't typically discussed, but I found this to be a bit confusing. I was expecting the bill to include line-items for the dining credits, plus line items for the dining debits. The bill didn't show any of that; I believe they apply the credit by manually removing the dining charges from the bill. This creates some wiggle-room at the agent's discretion, but the lack of information on the bill prevents the customer from reviewing how the dining credits were applied.

I had a similar experience using a credit at Vdara a couple years ago (Visa Infinite instead of FHR, but same idea). Charges were manually deducted at check-out. The final bill amount looked about right so I didn't question anything but I looked at the bill later when I was bored and it took me at least half an hour to figure it out (and I have an MBA)

Thank you for this great report
I understand now why a dinner (of over USD 100) was not charged

I think the Vegas hotels are used to taking all sorts of charges off for their casino guests, so they probably just use the same procedure here. Hopefully there's *some* ability for them to audit it behind the scenes!

Yes. Two rooms = double the perks. May be a 4-room cap per card.

Stayed at Encore last week. Booked one night (Thursday night) in an Encore King Tower Suite and was upgraded to the Tower Parlor Suite. This room was huge (1,408 sq ft vs 745 in the King Suite)! I believe this to be a very valuable upgrade. The Tower Suite experience was very nice as well. Separate entrance, check-in and elevators from the rest of the guest rooms.

My wife used the $100 spa credit towards a treatment at Encore Spa without any issues.

The breakfast credit was $40/person. This was not quite enough to cover in-room dining but I'm sure it would have been in the two other restaurants they offered.

Overall I'm extremely pleased and will book this itinerary again. I may try to book the Parlor Suite and hope for the Salon Suite upgrade!

I have been offered the Parlor -> Salon upgrade for cash after getting the free Parlor upgrade. They wanted $200 per night extra. If you budget this cost into your plans, it's a reasonable upgrade price

What is a typical price difference between the room that JCN booked (King Tower Suite) and the room that he mention for next time (Tower Parlor Suite)?

I just did a quick rate check for the Encore for a night in February:

Tower King: $422
Parlor: $855
Salon: $1035

The King to Parlor upgrade is the sweet spot for value, and the Encore upgrade is worth more than the Wynn version, as the Wynn Parlor for the same night is only $675, but the Tower King price is the same.
