Hilton Aspire card:
Jan 7th purchased 2x $143.40 flights
Jan 8th, cancelled flights (error), purchased 2x $108.40 flights
Jan 8th: charges for cancelled flights posted to account 2x $143.40
Jan 9th: credit for cancellation with 24hours posted 2x (-$143.40)
Jan 10h: charges for correct flights posted: 2x108.40
Jan 10th Amex fee credited: (-$143.40) and (-$106.60)

I wouldn't do this on purpose, but seems like cancellation close to 24hours may still post onto the account. I was expecting to use the rest of the credit for food on the flight, now I don't have to given the credit is $250.

It takes two or three days for the purchase to be finalized, then the same after that for the credit to appear from other reports.

Did you end up trying this? I have a $155 one-way ticket I'm hoping to cover

Did you buy the two $143.40 tickets (what it looks like was reimbursed) in separate txns? If in one txn, did they still post as separate to the card?

Are you certain this is true?

Edit: Ignore me, refer to post 200
Edit 2: Fare was split into two charges (one per passenger) after 2 business days
Edit 3: Credit showed on my end of billing cycle statement. Strangely, before the meter moved

Two $98.4 purchases (should have used the travel bank on a seat selection to add up to $200 on the dot for Platinum).

128.40 and 121.60 for Aspire (Using travel bank to fudge the numbers)

99.90 for Gold (Using travel bank to fudge the numbers)

Will see how they all look in a couple of days. Hopefully ~$550 in credits, aint too shabby!

Update:3/5/20

All transactions have been reimbursed as a 3/4 credit, but didn't show up until today (3/5).

Note that the seat selections on some of the flights coded separately, but they were still reimbursed.

$98.40
$86.90
$13.00
$118.40
$115.60
$10
$6
