Reminder: you must enroll and select AS as your airline BEFORE making a reimbursable purchase. Click HERE to enroll.
As of June 2017 gift certificates are no longer reimbursed. Link to buy gift certicates

According to this thread in the Alaska forum the reimbursement of Alaska Club memberships is no longer a problem. To see how much of your annual credit you've used, log in to AmEx, select the card in question, choose "Membership->Benefits" off the menu bar, scroll down to see the travel credit benefit. (with thanks to Lumpylump76)

Tickets cancelled within 24 hours are refunded back to the card used for the purchase. Tickets for travel dates > 60 days out can be deposited to your wallet when cancelled (this has not been true for some time). Change fees may apply depending on your status. Change fees are waived for MVP Gold and MVP Gold 75k members according to this page: https://www.alaskaair.com/content/mi...ID:MileagePlan (expand "service benefits" towards the bottom of the page). The wallet funds will expire one year after the issue date of the original ticket.

Single $200. I'm going to try breaking it up on the repeat. This is in on my wife's account. My own is on UA and never had any probs with doing the $200 in one go for UA.

Tried again with 2x$50; posted as before, but was credited back 3 days later. Will be trying again for the other $100 soon.

Update - did the other $100 as 2x$50, credited back after 4 days.
Based on this I'll be switching my own from UA to AS in January - the mywallet trick makes it so easy to use these on AS.

How long would one have to wait after enrollment with AMEX to make a purchase with AS?

I just enrolled and wanted to buy some BR day-passes as a gift for a friend but should I wait to buy them later?

Yes. You can redeem up to four gift certificates per reservation. Any unused funds will remain on the gift certificate, and remain available for use on a later purchase. If you have a My Account profile on alaskaair.com, you may also deposit an unlimited number of gift certificates into your My Wallet.
So does this mean you could use more than 4 certificates if they are first transferred to the My Wallet account? Then the value of all certificates becomes like an single credit with AS?

Switched my airline reimbursement partner to Alaska on 1/4.

Bought a single $200 GC on 1/5.

No reimbursement yet

I will try again with 4x$50 in a few days because I need to book a flight in the next couple weeks.

No credit yet on the card I used (not my own- I have had no problems getting the auto credit on my own card). Last time I had to call and argue with CS who kept repeating that GC's are not honored per T&C. They finally gave in and told me they were going to grant it to me since I'd been a member so long (or something along those lines). Guess I have to make another call....
