I imagine the idea here is to restore some of routes previously serviced by the E145. I'm sure I'm dreaming here, but it would be nice to see them add a small F cabin, even if it's just 1x2 for the first 2 rows.

If F seats did happen, it would be something like 6 F @ 37", 16 MCE @ 35", 22 Y @ 31".

Well this is one way to drive people flying from ORD towards UA; granted UA still has it share of CRJ flights, but they are increasingly shifting to the CR5 which is a great 50 seat configuration. CRJ200 flights not so much.

Hate to break it to you, but 99% of the flying community couldn't care less about the quality of an aircraft (unless there is a known safety issue with it, and even then most would be oblivious to it). They care about things like cost & schedule. They'll book their flights on the airline that makes sense for them, not based on aircraft type. Most people don't even know what aircraft they are flying on. When flying on a regional airline, most people also don't even realize that it isn't actually an AA, UA or DL aircraft/crew.

The CRJ200 just doesn't go away.
Perpetual cycle of: YAY SERVICE; ugh cant stand the CRJ200, rather drive; big splash press release of drawing down CRJ200 & replacing it with better alternatives (even the E145 is WAY better); 1-2 years of happiness; reintroducing CRJ200 to fill in route holes / cut costs.

I assume we'll see the same approach as Delta with this equipment: 50 seats, 2 x 2.
4 seats in row 1 marketed as MCE / remaining 46 seats marketed as Main Cabin
(Possibly MCE in row 8 at the exits?)

It might turn out to be good news for places like Ithaca, which has been trying to get ITH-ORD service for years, and which is losing its only AA service (to PHL) next month.
