2022 AA International Meal / Meals - menu / photos / etc. (master thread)
Introduction
Welcome to the 2022 version of the combined AA meals thread, focusing on international. To help give us a clear picture of your experience, remember to include routes, times, meal designation (breakfast/lunch/dinner/snack/refreshments/none), and if you want, seat number. Photos are welcome and very helpful. Those are guidelines, but of course, the format/style is all yours. Of course, discussion of improvements and/or cutbacks, questions, and thoughts are also welcome. Format Sample This is a format you can use when introducing your meal report. This is just a sample format; deviations are expected and are okay. If you want to see other examples of past formats, check out historical Int'l meal threads - or just post the same way you've always done. AA2: JFK-LHR: 7pm Dinner 777 (3-class) Business Class (from here, share the menu, experiences and/or photos) Historical Meal Reports Looking for older meal posts? And the olives were a nice touch. https://photos.smugmug.com/Travel/Ho...MG_1665-XL.jpg Tasty shrimp appetizer https://photos.smugmug.com/Travel/Ho...MG_1666-XL.jpg Bland salad. They were out of the chipotle dressing which actually sounded good https://photos.smugmug.com/Travel/Ho...MG_1667-XL.jpg Chicken entrée. Quite good but as I told my wife, none of these entrees screamed First Class to me https://photos.smugmug.com/Travel/Ho...MG_1669-XL.jpg Delicious dessert with Port https://photos.smugmug.com/Travel/Ho...MG_1672-XL.jpg Continental Breakfast. I was still too full for the hot option. Overall an excellent flight. 3/8 in F, two great FAs up front. The food could definitely use some work though. |

That whole set up is identical to business. I don't know why really anyone would pay additional to sit up in "flagship" first.

No it's not. No trays, just individual plates replaced each time. Furthermore there was also a soup course Business doesn't get which I passed on. And again, there were 3 of us in an 8 seat cabin with two flight attendants vs. almost 50 people in Business so the service was far more personalized. Lastly, my wife woke up with fewer than 40 minutes before landing and still got breakfast which absolutely would not have happened in Business.

To each their own I guess. For me getting a plate vs a tray (still though food comes out in courses in J) and a cup of sysco foods reheated soup aren't a reason to spend for AA's F class. It's horrible and pales to any other F outside the US (well, except possibly BA). FWIW I was able to get my breakfast 45 minutes out of LHR a few weeks ago.

There is certainly a reasonable debate to be had if F is worth the upgrade/upfare from J. But my and the other's post were in response to your comment that F is the same is J, and it's an indisputable fact that they are not.

This probably blongs under the heading of the most insignificant thing I can complain about today but... I don't remember ever seeing an AA meal served with sauce over the years where it wasn't slopped around the dish. Can't they at least get different shaped ramekins or figure out a way to stop the slop? |
Is there a hot meal on JFK-BOG these days?? I wasn't able to pre-select one for my flight. Don't tell me it's the measly sandwich or grain salad for a 6 hour flight!

Premium Economy meal options
We fly shortly and can select our food options. We have the choice of either Cauliflower Mac N Cheese or Prawns with Wild Rice?
Any recommendations for either? I’d eat both but hubby not so keen on Cauliflower so probably prawns for him but does it come with a sauce or anything? |
Curious as to DFW-BOG what to expect up front? Will it be 4 courses all separate and will there be sundaes or is it an abbreviated service due to it being Bogota and Colombia not being a FL route (i say that since BOG doesnt get you into FL, if it were open). I have heard MIA-BOG is abbreviated service compared to DFW, is this true? It is 2 hours less in scheduled flight time so I guess that would make sense. I cant find any menus on here and also with Covid I dont really know what to expect. I know the reverse routings dont offer food since both DFW and MIA take off after Midnight (this is ridiculous that a 5.5 hour flight sold as Flagship Business gets no food). Anyways, if anyone knows what I can expect DFW-BOG be curious.......Also, will I be able to pre order so I can do the Asian Veg? I cant figure out the pre order situation right now. It works for BOS & JFK but not for MIA, as far as Transcon.
