Terminal D Admirals Club (with its not quite Flagship First Dining) closed 7 April 2018 (concurrently with the reopening of the refurbished Terminal A Admirals Club). The new D Club reopened 16 May 2019 encompassing a Flagship Lounge that will serve qualifying passengers of AA, BA, QF, QR (instead of their operating contract lounges), an Admirals Club and Flagship First Dining facility.

The new Terminal D Admirals Club, Flagship Lounge and Flagship First Dining facility is OPEN. This thread is now archived. Please follow and discuss the facility here: Dallas DFW “D” Admirals Club, Flagship Lounge, Flagship First Dining 16 May 2019
Reimagining our lounges
An update on what’s next at DFW
We know you travel through Dallas Fort Worth often. And we can’t wait for you to experience our all-new Terminal D Admirals Club®, Flagship® Lounge and Flagship® First Dining in 2019.

To complete construction sooner, we’ve temporarily closed the Admirals Club lounge and International First Class Dining in Terminal D.

You’ll still have several Admirals Club lounges at DFW:

* NOW OPEN: Terminal A (near gate A24) (fully opened 7 Apr 2018)

* Terminal B (near gate B4)

* Terminal C (near gate C19)

*If you’re traveling on a qualifying international First or Business ticket* or have qualifying status**, you can visit our temporary Premium Lounge in Terminal D (near gate D36).

The interim “Premium Lounge” across from gate D36 is now open for qualified international passengers (not Admirals Club members on non-Flagship or Admirals Lounge qualifying flights):

*Includes international flights between the U.S. and Asia, Australia, Central America, Europe, Mexico City (MEX), New Zealand and South America

**Includes AAdvantage® Executive Platinum, Platinum Pro and Platinum status departing on or connecting to a qualifying international flight (between the U.S. and Asia, Australia, Central America, Europe, Mexico City MEX, New Zealand and South America) marketed and operated by American or a oneworld® carrier (regardless of cabin). ConciergeKeySM and oneworld (excl AAdvantage) Emerald/Sapphire members get access when traveling the same day on any flight marketed and operated by American or a oneworld airline (regardless of cabin).
This interim ad hoc but spacious Premium Lounge now has its liquor license; some report there are a few showers.

But, also, like LovePrunes said... this is most likely DFW Airport office facilities.
It's really hard trying to figure out where a possible temporary facility could be near "D35". Customs is the reason I ruled out the 2nd floor towards the gates as that's very obviously where the customer walkway is. On the 1st floor, all of the space seems occupied. I forget exactly, but it's near the McDonald's, Univsion cafe, Skylink entrance, restrooms. Hard to see where an area could be carved out. 3rd floor is the Skylink boarding area. So 2nd floor along landside still seems to make the most sense, even if it isn't this specific space.

It's hard for me to envision where this will be, too.

Safe to say, it's going to be small and primitive.

If they put the right local beer in those troughs, I sure would visit and look condescendingly upon those who pass by without access...

Just asked at DFW D lounge and they said A lounge will be opening on April 4th and D closing on April 7th. No idea how reliable that info is.

I wonder what lounge people will use on all those international departures. I know there are a few other One World lounges in D but don't they require flying on that particular airline only?

Supposedly there will be a temporary lounge with FL style entry requirements (i.e. AC membership won't get you in)

I believe the only other OW lounge at DFW is The Club at DFW, which is a contract lounge for BA, QR, JAL as well as Priority Pass. (reviews are ehh) There is also an Amex Centurian Lounge, but I do not believe it is affiliated with any airline.

If one has access, the temporary AA premium lounge seems like the best bet, pending reviews.

Do we know if the temporary premium lounge will have showers?

If not, does the Centurion have showers?

or, trying to remember which is then the closest Admirals Club to D with showers.

I would say if you have some time, the best bet will probably be the new A lounge and then just take a few minutes to take the train over to D.

Both the premium lounge and Centurion lounge have showers.

All ACs at DFW have showers. (Well, the singular "shower" in the case of terminal B.) The temporary A club does not have showers at the moment, but will have them when it reopens in a few weeks. Alas, I understand the fantastic "car wash" showers in A have been relegated to the history books.

FL?

So if Admirals Club membership doesn't get you in what would get you into the temporary lounge? For example, I'm flying dfw-lhr in May in J and have EXP status. No go?

I probably also agree with the statement the A club is just a two stop (one stop?) train ride but nothing beats the convenience of having a D lounge right next to, or very near, your departure gate.
