American Airlines ConciergeKeySM / "CK" Program (by invitation only)
(Includes Executive Platinum status and Admirals Club membership)

NOTE: For questions such as "How can I get Concierge Key?" or "This is my spend: will I get CK?" Please refer to the How do I make / making AA Concierge Key / ConciergeKey / CK?thread

Also see AA Concierge Key invitations / renewal for 2019 status (out early 12/2018).

13 Apr 2020: AAdvantage extends CK status is extended automatically until Jan 31, 2022.

"The ConciergeKey Program is an exclusive program that American Airlines has for our very top customers. This is by invitation only and a very exclusive club." (Billy Sanez for AA)

ConciergeKey Services are provided to a select group of VIPs to facilitate travel on AA. The program is offered on an invitation basis only and is targeted at customers who control travel policy for large organizations. Customers who generate a high amount of revenue for AA may also be invited into this program (possibly those who spend upwards of US$60k a year on travel with AA).

Services provided include airport escorts and pre-boarding (seems variable, more likely during OSO?); assistance with flight changes, seat changes, and upgrade requests via their own dedicated telephone line. In addition, there is the ability to communicate directly with ConciergeKey associates via a dedicated email address. ConciergeKeySM representatives will also monitor day of travel of ConciergeKey members and will proactively reroute or rebook travel when necessary. ConciergeKey status allows check-in at First Class counters, as well as access to elite lines through security at certain airports. Miles and copay upgrades with copay waived.

ConciergeKey is now a distinct elite tier, above Executive Platinum. ConciergeKey benefits include membership to the Admirals Club, international miles upgrades with copayment waived, as well as two additional System-Wide Upgrades (SWU's) as part of CK membership.

CK members have access to Flagship Check-in on any flight, and CK will have Flagship Lounge access when flying a OneWorld airline.

As of 1 Jan 2017, Concierge Key members have upgrade requests prioritized over all other tiers: CK members have an upgrade window of (up to) 120 hours (Executive Platinum member's will retain the 100 hour upgrade window). CK members will board ahead of other passengers.

Regarding Concierge Key tier benefits coming in 2017, please see: New Concierge Key Benefits for 2017: New CK Elite Status Tier

Please: do respect members' privacy by refraining from asking for overly personal information and details relating to ConciergeKey membership or nomination. If your question receives no response, consider the member chooses not to reply, as is his/her right.

Boarding Area's AAdvantageGeek's blog shows the card and documents here.

I have yet to hear of an inexpensive one.

Truly won't change my life, but does make me feel appreciated (esp when the flight attendants are hit or miss as to recognizing our CK status).
The chocolates were in December with the webcast tour a couple of years ago, 2021??? The airplane was in February 2022. Since there has been so random renewals this year and that darn CK challenge. I didn't get anything when I was reawarded CK with the challenge. Haven't heard of others gifts. No airline luggage tags, either??

^^^ New metal CK luggage tags came out around three months ago. That’s the only thing I know of this year (so far).

I just finished my first 18 months flying with AA after relocating to a new city. I spent about $50k on airfare over the previous year which was not enough for an invite. With a few more international trips this year and the ability to put them all on AA and partners (vs last year where 3x international trips went on DL) I feel I’ll make the 1m point but will struggle to get the time phasing correct to earn within the trimesters.
Have you seen your status update the app yet? I accepted as well but my status still shows EXP.

You accepted the CK status challenge? My CK showed up on my app soon after I spoke with the agent on the phone. Has it updated yet?

Still waiting for my challenge call...

Curious as to what the criteria is for the call.

I have no idea what the criteria is. I think I was the first here to get the call early April after I lost CK. I have only recently seen others mention it. I do know that some have written in requesting to join the challenge but was told they don't "qualify" for the challenge but may still qualify organically. Again, no idea. On the AA promotion page it said, select customers were contacted. I know when I was called I was told there were few that were contacted. Honestly, the metrics are so high, I know I won't meet the million LPs needed and put myself out of the running for next year.

Now I am curious to see how you are doing with the metrics. I was pretty upset they started from 0 as I had over 100k LPs going into it and had to start all over to make another 250k which I am now struggling to reach. I have over 300k now but that don't count!! I still need 50k by September.

Slightly off topic: I don't use Twitter much (translation - like once per year). I frequently see on this board that a poster sends some message/problem to the attention of AA's Twitter team for resolution. And many times, they respond quickly. Are they just tagging AmericanAir and hoping that the AA twitter team sees it? Are they sending the AA Twitter team some sort of direct message? Something else?

Yes, you send a direct message so it is private and you can include PNR, AAdv #, etc. Only you and AA see it. Tagging is for public posts for your followers, and anyone who follows AA on twitter.

I really wish a CK would address this issue with American. Maybe out of fear of retaliation. Even non elite members earn 5 LPs per $1. Purchased upgrades should receive 2 LPs per $1 there should be some middle ground. I understand from a revenue standpoint American won’t give full LPs for upgrades .

Why wouldn't they give full LPs (5-11x, depending on status)? United gives full PQP (their status qualifying metric) for their in app upgrade purchases, and Delta awards MQD for upgrades as well. If they're really worried about the cost, they could give LPs without RDMs (which would be most equivalent to what the other 2 do, afaik).

Personally, if AA did give LPs that'd definitely be something that would sway me towards taking the upgrades.

Pretty sure DL gives RDM for cash upgrades (and in some cases you earn MQM based on the upgraded cabin).

Here is the story about how this got started since I initiated the thread. I pay for upgrades after the company I travel for books my flight in coach. I had always thought I received LPs based on the total price but my LPs seemed light for my spend for the year 2022. Then I saw the article that LPs are not given for upgrades, only 11x what the base price was. Of course, you get your 1$ LPs for cc spend. So I, as a CK DID call and ask about it. I got to an AA executive who said this is how it is and when I said a lot of people were leaving AA and going to UA because of other issues and brought up the fact that UA DOES give credit when paying for upgrades. He said, AA doesn't, end of story. I asked if there was someone else I could contact regarding this and was told no. Now, for the first time, when I went to pay for an upgrade, there was a disclaimer on the site that said, these charges will not apply to LPs. Hadn't seen that before. Does that help clarify anything?
