American Airlines ConciergeKeySM / "CK" Program (by invitation only)
(Includes Executive Platinum status and Admirals Club membership)

NOTE: For questions such as "How can I get Concierge Key?" or "This is my spend: will I get CK?" Please refer to the How do I make / making AA Concierge Key / ConciergeKey / CK?thread

Also see AA Concierge Key invitations / renewal for 2019 status (out early 12/2018).

13 Apr 2020: AAdvantage extends CK status is extended automatically until Jan 31, 2022.

"The ConciergeKey Program is an exclusive program that American Airlines has for our very top customers. This is by invitation only and a very exclusive club." (Billy Sanez for AA)

ConciergeKey Services are provided to a select group of VIPs to facilitate travel on AA. The program is offered on an invitation basis only and is targeted at customers who control travel policy for large organizations. Customers who generate a high amount of revenue for AA may also be invited into this program (possibly those who spend upwards of US$60k a year on travel with AA).

Services provided include airport escorts and pre-boarding (seems variable, more likely during OSO?); assistance with flight changes, seat changes, and upgrade requests via their own dedicated telephone line. In addition, there is the ability to communicate directly with ConciergeKey associates via a dedicated email address. ConciergeKeySM representatives will also monitor day of travel of ConciergeKey members and will proactively reroute or rebook travel when necessary. ConciergeKey status allows check-in at First Class counters, as well as access to elite lines through security at certain airports. Miles and copay upgrades with copay waived.

ConciergeKey is now a distinct elite tier, above Executive Platinum. ConciergeKey benefits include membership to the Admirals Club, international miles upgrades with copayment waived, as well as two additional System-Wide Upgrades (SWU's) as part of CK membership.

CK members have access to Flagship Check-in on any flight, and CK will have Flagship Lounge access when flying a OneWorld airline.

As of 1 Jan 2017, Concierge Key members have upgrade requests prioritized over all other tiers: CK members have an upgrade window of (up to) 120 hours (Executive Platinum member's will retain the 100 hour upgrade window). CK members will board ahead of other passengers.

Regarding Concierge Key tier benefits coming in 2017, please see: New Concierge Key Benefits for 2017: New CK Elite Status Tier

Please: do respect members' privacy by refraining from asking for overly personal information and details relating to ConciergeKey membership or nomination. If your question receives no response, consider the member chooses not to reply, as is his/her right.

Boarding Area's AAdvantageGeek's blog shows the card and documents here.

Absolutely. I've fully admitted that my loyalty to AA is illogical.

I'll be secretary of that club as mine fits neatly into that same category.

There were new invites sent at the end of July this year so the half-year invitations still do exist even though the four month rolling renewal challenges got more attention.

I'm still holding onto hope that AA will, at some point, roll out a lifetime CK offering for those who have pounded the pavement and paid the literal dues for 10+ years...

I think all CKs by default are seen as illogical on the amount of money and time spent on planes.

Thanks for sharing. Do you mind me asking if you are speaking from personal experience, or was this just something you had heard, etc? I hadn't seen anyone that had said they were selected in July, and if it really was the mid-year invite cycle then that's definitely a bummer - as my LP was ~600k in start of July, all on AA metal - most in premium cabin... so I may be barking up the wrong tree and need to switch to UA.

Do we love the idea of flying, more than flying?

Is it the idea of flying that has the appeal?

We've been sold for years as it being a major fun activity, right up there with the first time you had extra fun in the back seat of a car as a teen or young adult.

Ryan Bingham's speech from "Up in the Air" rattled off the problems of air travel as things he loved, but when you get down to it, we're all locked in together in a bus with wings at 33K feet. The cuisine was never anything to write to Michelin about. The airport experience in the terminal is a little better than a bus station, but if you can hide with 500 of your closest friends in the nearest lounge, you do it. The lounge doesn't get you out of the in real life game of gate roulette or irrop craps.

Is catching CK or even Gold for the first time worth it, or do you wind up feeling like a dog that finally caught a car and doesn't know what to do next. Last flight there were 35 on the upgrade list for 1 seat.

I agree any loyalty is illogical, hence my signature on FT.

(I'm onboard tomorrow. And again, around 10 days. and again, after that. Illogical .)

A number of people received CK status this week. (I was not among them.)

Sorry to hear that. What are your mid-year LPs? Can anyone who did receive it confirm what their LPs are? It would be good to get a sense of metrics driving the decisions.

It's been rolling out in August but it's the "half year" invite (status through the end of March 2024) so any mid-year invites should be done by now.

I am so sorry. I CANNOT believe you didn't get it. I thought for sure you were optimistic about it. Very interested to see more about this. My first quarter metric ends 9/4. I made the 250k but now will have to make 350k by Jan 4th.

I am just a few shy of the 750k reward and will comfortably clear 1m. Will spend well in excess of $100k for self and company spend is high 7/low 8 figures.

The two people I know who got it today are approximately 215k LP and 260k LP. Neither are at major hubs, both have credit cards, 80-90+% of their points are from spend on AA metal, all J/F, mostly domestic flights.
