Other nuggets of info
SFO has two runway pairs:
10L/28R 11,870 ft 3,618 m Asphalt
10R/28L 11,381 3,469 Asphalt
and
1R/19L 8,650 2,637 Asphalt
1L/19R 7,650 2,332 Asphalt
These runways were designed and built with non-standard runway separation (centerlines of the parallel runways are only 750 feet / 230 m apart) Any time weather conditions affect SFO, ATC flow control is put into effect because only one runway of each runway pair can be used. This may mean delayed arrivals (and subsequent departures) as well as diversions (usually to SJC, but may include OAK).

Second day doesn稚 seem better. The three ORD-SFO flights I checked this afternoon are all delayed over 5 hours! Flying this route in a little over a week and not looking forward to it...

AA166 on Saturday is setting all sorts of records. Now showing a departure of 1:45am (Monday). 10+ hour delay.
Better than AA276 I suppose as it was outright cancelled.
Not seeing the other transcon carriers between SFO/NYC having as much delay on their flights.

The device service that AA uses for lost/delayed bags is also equally unreliable/unpredictable as AA's schedule. It gives an estimated delivery time but an hour after that estimate the bad is still awaiting driver pickup. If you schedule a hold then the estimated delivery time is 4 hours after the time you specify.

Connecting from AA to Qantas at SFO?
I've got a Qantas ticket that connects me from an AA domestic flight to Qantas as SFO. I've never connected at SFO other than on UA so I'm unfamiliar with the process. Am I correct that I'll arrive at Terminal 2 and then have to make my way to the Int'l Terminal? And I'll do that by train OUTSIDE of security? About how long will this connection take? I've got about an hour and a half between flights. Thanks.

You'll need to exit the AA/Alaska terminal and board the train (escalator to the train is right across from the ticket counters). SFO has two different international piers. UA is on a different pier than Qantas. Might take 10-15 mins at best as the trains run every 3-5 minutes and are generally reliable. Only downside is another round of security and Qantas does not participate in Pre-Check.

Your bigger risk might be SFO weather. If your trip is after November 1, we'll be heading into our rainy season and that slows things down. Might consider moving to an earlier AA flight if you can make that work to avoid being stuck overnight.

Looks like AA made the move over to the new Terminal 1, B gates. Saw five planes parked there this morning.
