I was checking the upgrade list for LGA-MSP today (already was upgraded) and at the top of the list is PAR/D.....coincidence? Then I get to the Admirals Club and I swear he is in the club with his family.

If you are upgraded off the original list after you have been added to the airport list (which can happen up until T-xx, where xx is the last time the automated system runs), you will not show on the airport list.

I'm thinking it actually might have been a coincidence even if you then saw him in the club-- if you're saying you saw that name listed as in queue for upgrade, as Doug Parker I really do not think would be listed/waiting thusly.

Just had my first T-100 upgrade in what seems like forever. OMA-DFW. DFW-COS the next day didn't clear at T-100, will see what happens closer in.

My thoughts too....this guy in the Admirals Club could be his twin....wish I knew what his voice sounded like so I could confirm.

Same here. ATL-ORD cleared right at T-100. Earliest before this was 72 hours, but most others are between 30-0 hours. Maybe we got lucky, maybe there was some change in the magic formula? Who knows.

I'm not saying you are Doug Parker. All I'm saying is no one has seen you in the same room together....

I'm getting something else funny, related to that shift to the standby list at check-in. My last three flights I've gotten the red error saying (something to the effect of) "Unable to add you to the upgrade standby list. Please see an American Airlines agent at the airport for assistance." I can't see any reason that I'm getting that message. (No irrops, no inactive segments in my PNR, res ticketed as displayed, plenty of upgrades, at least half the cabin open and F availability showing, etc.)

Is anyone else getting the same thing? It's a little annoying that we're not clearing earlier -- if the process holds intact -- but when you lose your spot (even temporarily) you risk getting skipped and it gets very frustrating.

Those are my initials too, the other day at LAX I was waiting to clear to CLT and my initials were at position 1 at 2 different gates ! Got me confused for a second :)

I've seen that too, but it hasn't affected my placement on the list or upgrade success as far as I can tell.
