Thought I could get someone such as yourself, whom I would describe as an expert, to give me some advice. The time it took you to reply could have been used to offer some advice which, if you wouldn't mind, I'd still like to have for my expiring points.

Sorry, it didn't look confusing to me, so I assumed it would not be confusing to you. The BXP8 award (Admirals Club Membership) text begins with "AAdvantage® member receives one-year Admirals Club membership." The points required is shown as 3000. That much you knew already, as you had looked at the awards.

To help clear up your confusion, you have 3700 points, which is more than 3000 points, so you have enough for a one-year Admirals Club membership.

The BXP7 award is one Admirals Club day pass for 300 points. That was also listed on the website. To clear up the confusion there, 8 one-day passes would require you to use 8 times 300 points, or 2400 points. 3700 points is more than 2400 points, so you can buy 8 one-day passes.

Does anyone here have the Business ExtrAA Amex Platinum corporate card? I saw a sign about it in the LGA AC last night and was curious about a couple of things:

1. How many BE points does one earn per dollar spent?

2. Is there any earning of AAdvantage miles with the card (I didn't see anything suggesting there was, but wanted to make sure)?

3. How does the service from the Amex reps/concierge compare to the regular Amex Plat charge card?

The card may be found here:

http://corp.americanexpress.com/gcs/...x.aspx?src=859

I've gone through the information on that site but haven't found answers to the above questions yet.

There is some info on this in the BE Promos thread. Check the OP and the last couple pages.

So what's the procedure for a BE upgrade certificate you've been mailed?

Call to redeem, just as you would call for an AAward Upgrade with miles+copay, and subject to A or C availability. You will be asked to provide the certificate numbers. Then, when you check in, be sure that you have the hard copy certificates with you - they will be stapled to your tickets and surrendered at the gate.

I've never had to provide the cert numbers, just the expiration date.... but you definitely need to have the paper hard copy cert with you when you checkin.

May be agent-dependent, but I have definitely had to provide cert numbers.

I have a BX1A award which will expire next week. I have been trying to use it but can never find availability to places I might want to travel. Anyone had luck redepositing this award back into Business Extra account or any suggestions how I might extend the timing? (I redeemed the award a year ago and have until next week to turn it into a ticket.
thanks.

I don't think you can redeposit or extend the timing, not surprising as the only reason for redeeming the award with no idea how or when you would use it is to keep points from expiring, if you could redeposit or extend the timing, that would defeat the purpose of having points expire. You can use it for an award ticket anywhere in the continental U.S. (including Alaska*), Canada and Mexico, anytime in the next year, but you must decide now and book the flight now. That doesn't seem all that restrictive, you should be able to find award availability someplace in that region that you would like to go in the next year. If you really aren't going on vacation in the next year, note that the ticket doesn't have to be for you (but you must specify who it is for when ticketing).

All you do is call the BE customer service and they will add your BE number to your PNR(s) assuming you havent flown yet. Before I added my BE to my profile, I always forgot. Regular AA res agents cannot add BE numbers to PNRs. Keep in mind BE customer service is just 8-5 M-F. But you will not have points post from December flights until mid-January.

I did email the BE customer service and they did email me back very quickly, saying that the BE number was added.
I see that right now my account shows point earned until 10/31. When should I expect tickets flown before 11/30 (last one was flown 11/28) show up on the account? If they do show up by mid December, then I will have all the points I need.

Business Extraa typically posts miles very slowly. They generally post one time per month but it depends on the cut off date for activity.

But EXP agents can certainly add the BE numbers to reservations.

BE points usually post around the 10th of the month.

I had the same problem. What you can do is book a flight to a city that you may want to travel to. Just in case you make the trip. Otherwise, the award expires.

I think there is like a $150 fee to redeposit the points. But I believe that the points will expired since it is base on the original expiration date.

Is there anyway to check whether BE number was linked to a reservation? I called to have the BE number added to an existing reservation, but wonder if it can be checked either by my AA or my BE account? Or I can only wait until the flight is flown and points to be posted in BE account.
