Notes about Giftcards.com:
- A separate thread exists for discussing Giftcards.com and likely has more data points than this generic thread.
- Purchases from giftcards.com earn miles on the first $2,000 spent in the named calendar month, meaning for example between March 1st and March 31st. [Note: as of Aug 2023, the $2k limit is per order, not per purchase]
- Giftcards.com has had various limits over the years, and it was always by calendar month.
- Some data points show the $2,000 monthly limit is not always enforced. [Note: as of Aug 2023, the $2k limit is per order, not per purchase]
- In 2022, larger orders track more slowly, and you may need to wait a full month to see miles. Strong advice from the thread is to make multiple small purchases (say under $300) rather than large ones to avoid the dreaded "manual review"
Some anti-virus software silently blocks tracking, and you may want to consider disabling it for your purchase.

Thanks. I am new to this thread, sorry for the newbie questions. :-/ So, there is no plastic visa gift card to buy at egiftcards that I can use at stores I visit in person? So for stores not represented on the egift website I am out of luck in terms of a way to somehow earn LPs for those transactions?

You need to think outside the box a bit with these giftcards. You may need to shift your shopping habits.
Myself, for example, I buy the vVGC and use them on the Walmart app for groceries and gas. I have also purchased a plastic Walmart GC for use at Murphy gas stations which are numerous around where I live. For anything else online, if the store is not found on the portal, I just use the vVGC to purchase what I need. I also buy my AA tickets with the vVGCs. Basically, I buy the vVGCs and then buy everything I can with them instead of using a cashback credit card as in the past. Tax payments, insurance, pet bills, health insurance costs, home repairs have also been paid with these vVGCs.
I just worked out I've bought $10000 worth of eVGCs since March for a cost of only $9822 total spend - kind of surreal in a way.

I doubt it is a mistake pretty much every portal that was more than 1x has dropped today with a couple of exceptions. I am guessing they have seen a huge uptick in volume with the 5% off (I know I have been buying a lot) so they don't feel the need to bonus the spend so much.

Ha I am the exact reverse if I had to chose my poison as I can liquidate these cards pretty easily and at scale so I hope the 5% lasts beyond 9/11. But that said I agree without the 5% I am not a buyer even at 3x except if there is an additional portal bonus so I agree the 3x is likely back at some point unless they decide discounted GCs is the better deal for them.
