Frankfurt FRA AC

Checked in for AA83 this morning at the FRA AC and, on behalf of the many FTers who know and appreciate all that David and his colleagues do for us, I presented him with a box of Girl Scout Thin Mints.

(Okay, so they're not Marlboros, but I thought a little touch of America might be nice. He mentioned he's been in Germany since 1977.)

Ditto my thanks as well. David and the staff are terrific there. Quite the opposite of the indifference I've found at several ACs; I've always been warmly welcomed and treated quite well. Looking forward to a brief visit on Sunday morning.

I'm so jealous of you guys who get the easy MR to FRA. It's hard to find a cheap one out of BOS.

Thank you for the show of generosity as well. Some fellow FTers and I were there this past weekend and the staff was wonderful, accomadating and friendly. Great facility.^

Thanks for the gesture on behalf of the growing FRA A/C fan club. I was there last weekend, and David said he's grateful for his fans. I'm sure he & his co-workers loved the goodies.

I'll be there this weekend and well, looking forward again to their hospitality. Wish more A/C's had staff like that.

Thanks for the nice gesture, Alka! The FRA AC may be a bit, er, frowzy, but the staff are top notch and it's a good place to stop for a shower, some coffee, advice or directions, boarding passes, etc. ^

I treated the FRA AC staff to large pastries a couple of Sundays ago.
Maybe I'll aim for something more healthy this weekend.
They are soooo nice!

Mike
I just did one from BDL last weekend. Not the best price (~$500 for 11744 miles) but it was better than nothing. I did bdl-dfw-ord-fra-ord-bdl, but could have added more hops on the way to make it more. Unfortunately, more of the good fares seem to be gone now, probably because ord-fra is gone in march. I'll be looking for other good runs since I have weekends to spare while I am on assignment up there.

Immigration asked for itinerary

Arrived FRA yesterday on AA70 and German immigration asked me for a printed itinerary. This is for an e-ticket and 5-day stay.

The fellow had sent the lady in front of me to back to the line for the same reason. I said the email was in my computer but my laptop battery was dead. After a long wait and fiddling he finally stamped me in, and let the other passenger through eventually.

Silly. Both AC members. I mentioned it to the FRA AC staff and they'd never heard of such shenanigans but said if it happens again to ask immigration to call them.

Anyone else have similar experiences?

Not first hand, but I've witnessed similar situations including some people being escorted to the interrogation room. More so at HAM than FRA.

When I did a 1 day stay in FRA last year, I handed over my passport, they glanced at it for 5 seconds, then waved me on. Not 1 word was even spoken! I will arrive again Saturday so let's hope it's just as uneventful. The only drawback was I didn't get my Germany stamp in my passport

FRA immigration has been flawless on my Feb. MRs (knock on wood for tomorrow's departure). Only seen one person questioned at Customs.

AND no forms to fill out!
