MODERATOR NOTE

Good day new AA flyers and those seeking AA status through this promotion,

In the interest of keeping this thread on topic and relevant, I'd like to add some clarity for our newer AAdvantage members here. While there is a wealth of information in this thread on the promotion in question, this thread is not a help desk for questions that are readily answered in forum FAQs.

For those with questions about how the AAdvantage programme works, please start with the sticky threads at the top of the forum thread list. The FAQs especially have a lot of helpful information. If you're still stuck, and you feel you've got a "basic" question, try the Newbie Lounge. If your question is specific to one of the topics covered in our Help Desk threads, head there for answers. If a consolidated thread already exists, check there first to see if your question is answered already.

This thread will be more strictly moderated to ensure it stays on topic. We welcome all new AA flyers to the fold, but posts need to stay on topic to keep our forum organised and findable. Thanks to everyone for cooperating and understanding.

Yeah MM miles are not accruing for me either. My status went thru, but only by the grace of a merciful AAngel who manually applied the status.

I'm having the same issue as others with my Elite balance being enough to bump me to Plat, but it still has me at Gold and it's been "stuck" there for a few weeks. For that reason, I'm not buying that its root cause is related to aa.com updates.

When I checked my account just now, I noticed something for the first time and wonder if AA has added this recently or if it's always been there and I just simply haven't noticed it?
+ Flights, awards and other eligible transactions processed within the last two weeks may not be reflected.

Another data point. Completed a flight yesterday and the miles have shown up but not the status yet. (Gold in my case)

Been sitting at a little of 16,400EQM and Plat for more than a week and a half now. Still haven't gotten any 500 mile upgrades posted yet and I believe I should be seeing 4, correct? Has anyone experienced such a delay in getting the stickers posted after crossing the 10k since Gold threshold?

90 segments flown this year - 10 more to go....

Am in countdown mode. The rest of the segments are a piece of cake: DFW-PHX, PHX-DFW, DFW-AUS, AUS-DFW, that short haul stuff...

Good Luck all...

I figured my EXP status would show at some point his weekend, but still isn't showing. I flew another flight last week some am way over 30k at this point. Have to book some flights for next week and would really like to be in the upgrade queue as an EXP.

Congratulations on EXP! My advice would be to call AAdvantage Customer Service (they open at 9 am Monday). As long as you have the 30k flown, they should be able to transfer you immemdiately to EXP Desk. EXP Desk will redo your reservations so you are in EXP que.

Wishing you and your family a very Happy Thanksgiving...

So I called BA to get assigned seats for a BA flight I have next year. They said my status is still Ruby (GLD) so they called AA to check, and the AA agent they called said I was still GLD . . . How come!?
You might want to ask BA rep to take out your AA# and add it back to 'refresh' your status. Happened to me.

As an update I called the AAdvantage Desk and they told me that the T&Cs of the challenge state it can take up to 10 days for the status to change. I'll call again later to see if there's a rep that would be willing to change it for me manually.

After over a week of no status update, I called again and they manually applied EXP to my account. It is now reflected on my account.

Hi all,

A question about 500 mile upgrade stickers.

Is it correct that you the base miles of the flight that took you to Gold will count as part of the 10,000 miles needed to get 4 stickers?

If this is the case, I flew on a flight with base miles 3556 that took me to Gold in October. I have since flown twice more on the same route earning 3556 miles for each flight (Nov 6 and Nov 12). (Totalling 10,668 base miles)

Shouldn't that mean I should have 4 500 mile stickers in my account now??

Unfortunately I have called 3x now to BA, asking them to take the number out and put it back again and they keep saying it has not updated to PLT yet . . .even though my AAdvantage account has been showing PLT for nearly 2 weeks now. Not sure what to do.

I had a similar issue with KA. No matter how many times they took out my number and re-added it, it still showed me as Gold when I was already Platinum.

On another note, I called AAdvantage today--10 days after my EXP qualifying flight--and they put a manual request in to upgrade my status.
