Or connecting to another flight. Passengers on diplomatic passports, and other government and international organisation officials can also be there, as they have different rules than us commoners.

Looks like right now NH is using the new configuration 777 (with "the room" and "the suite") for the JFK flights it is operating. However, seat maps for Aug/Sep/Oct show the old configuration.

In all likelihood no. ANA seems to be operating the few 77W frequencies they have at the moment mainly with the old configuration. What happens once the pandemic is over and schedules return to a more normal level is impossible to predict. But looking at the pandemic numbers for the US, that in itself is not anytime soon.

Lightbulb New Seats on ORD and LAX Flights

I'm not sure if these are one-off flights since many flights are suspended or less frequent, but JA794A, JA796A, and JA797A have been on the ORD route (NH11/12) and LAX route (NH125/126) in the last few days. Anyone know anything about this or think this will be permanent in the future?

Are those outfitted with the new seats? That would be sweet as I'm on nh11 in a few weeks...

I would not count on any current plane assignments being a reflection of how it will be once we return to more normal schedules. I would take this as a random occurrence as rotations are unusual at the moment.

An award search for September (and only through September) on the ANA website shows that The Room and The Suite are available between TYO-LAX.

Hmmm...that's interesting that it shows The Room and The Suite during the booking process for both LAX flights, and not one-off flights like I mentioned above. I would expect some type of announcement if it becomes permanent on any route, but maybe this is a hint at the next route. Just a speculation at this point

I agree with CPH-Flyer response to my post. Everything is in flux with not many regular flights operating at the moment.

Was tempted to switch my flight to LAX but United doesn't appear to be running AUS-LAX throughout September, doh.

Yeah, it would seem that if it's an official change, they would announce it. Hopefully it's a hint at the next route since I have flights in F LAX-NRT booked for next March and June. Perhaps they are letting new passengers try them. It would suck to be someone who had booked the JFK route and got notification that there was equipment change. But then, these days, it likely doesn't affect too many people.

Changed my flight to route through JFK instead (a319 on the connection instead of e175 should be an easier time carrying on my guitar). At the moment at least the flight is showing the new seats.

Booked on NRT-ORD in F next May and hopeful of the new config. Reading this it doesn't seem that likely but who knows in the next 7 months...
