When are you seeing this swap? I don't see the 777 operating to IAD on any days. Thanks

I saw it on either 2/22 or 2/23... one of those dates had The Room and the other was the usual 787...

Interesting. It seems that IAD is getting the 77W scheduled as a one-off, but F is not currently being sold.

ORD odds of the room in Spring 26

Hi all - wondering if its worth a gamble in Spring of 26 to book ANA ORD to HND and hope for the Room or to just book JAL. Welcome any perspectives thanks!

I personally prefer window Apex Suites, and the JAL lounges are better at HND, especially with Oneworld Emerald, I also find loyalty and mileage accumulation better on OW than *A programs. But that's just my preference, you can't really go wrong with either.

My worldview is that I'd go for the more consistent product anyways because you don't want to get your hopes up, get plane swapped and then get upset.

Departing ORD, the Polaris Lounge that ANA uses is significantly better than the Flagship Lounge that JAL uses, mainly because of its sit-down dining (Flagship only has a buffet). But ANA's ORD-HND flight usually departs from B16, which is the least convenient gate to the Polaris Lounge (you have to go through the tunnel between the B and C concourses twice). JAL also has a very nice security checkpoint right by its check-in counters, which is often empty while the other checkpoints are jammed. So it's a bit of a wash, and JAL is arguably a better ground experience if you don't plan to eat much in the lounge.

But if you depart ORD and need your status for lounge access, then it is AA Flagship vs United Club. So ups and downs depending on the situation.

The question was about business, in which case the choice is Flagship vs. Polaris regardless of status... whereas if flying economy or premium economy, your status and flight schedule might not get you into Flagship, so that would also need to be considered.

What would be the case where Sapphire or Emerald status will not get you in to Flagship Lounge when departing ORD on JAL? Not the late departure as the Flagship Lounge stays opened 00:30 to accommodate the JAL passengers. Both those having Flagship access, but also those just having Admiral's Club access.

Sorry you're right. I somehow thought there was a higher bar for Flagship access but it is lower than the bar for Polaris access...

Hoping that the HND flights get upgraded too.
For every day? When I checked (ANA website) a bunch of NH7 dates, I'm still seeing non-retrofitted flying Sun & Thu from SFO to NRT.

When does ANA tend to firm up equipment schedules? I have a flight in mid january HND-SFO that currently shows The Suite, I assume I would have more confidence a monthish before?

HND-SFO on a Thursday, which has not been the normal Fri new B77W schedule. It of course is loaded as new Suite on Google/ANA website right now, but of course subject to change.

About 2 weeks before is when you'll be reasonably sure. Of course operational reasons could swap it until day off. So 100% sure is when you hear "Flight attendants, arm doors, cross check, and report please".
