NH 842 - SIN-HND - June 2019
Loved this seat for the flight.
A lot of front cupboard space.
Row 1
Row 1
Cabin crew told me that there are not pilot rest bunks as these aircraft are used for regional flights of 8 hours or less, and thus, more space for closets. Very interesting difference with the versions I've flown on AC and AA, which are used for TPACs etc.
As I noted last year, no individual air nozzles. And of course, only one of the lights works, as per last year.
I like this mattress pad.

Also, you can see it in the 5th photo in my post 537 above. I put my mattress pad in the storage area when I took the photo.

Actually, as you will see, the mattress pad was on my seat for both 843 and 842, the daytime flight.
Also, respectfully disagree. I find the mattress pad to be great, even though the seats in lie-flat mode are comfortable without them. Also, they are significantly thicker than the thin white quilted fabric pad that is offered on UA, AA and especially AC. All 3 of those are really more seat covers than proper pads. BR's is quilted like a comforter and covers the entire seat, with a clever design where the top it fitted and slides on top of the head rest part of the seat.

We don't have to agree on the quality of the mattress pad.
I have yet to fly UA Polaris, as I see no reason to subject myself to that, but their bedding does normally get a lot of praise, and seemingly the seat it self is less hard than the NH seat giving less need for extra padding. And I tend to avoid AA long haul in favour of JAL.

My last few flights on ANA was overnight, and the mattress pad was ready an waiting, I know you get them on day flights, but could not remember if the package was on the seat at boarding.

I used my Aeroplan miles for the 2 UA TPACs SFO-AKL and back as they were part of a major 6 sector trip including AC to SFO, NZ AKL-SIN, SQ F SIN-AKL and so on using my Aeroplan miles. So worth it. And NZ, with that memory foam mattress.....awesome
All of them and NH and BR, have completely different seats even if AC and AA have the same cabin on their 789s. I bailed from AA, thus no OW, and so my flying tends to be mostly *A.
That said, I was actually happy to try UA. I had low expectations but the seat was perfect, the bedding and that gel pillow were insanely fantastic and I slept 11 hours of the flight to AKL.
Overall, I find that NH does some amazing things but they don't fly to where I am based so I will always have to connect to fly them.

Have a flight booked LAX-NRT on 777 and like the idea of the mini-cabin for J class. Seats I can pick are 5A for Mrs Mapleg and 6C for me.
Just wondering if the proximity to the lav in 6C is something to be concerned about or not? I don't really worry about galley noise..that I can live with, but lav's are more annoying (to me)
Thanks

I will be traveling with my wife and 8 year old daughter on NH825/826 with the 169 seat B788. Looks like this has the 1-2-1/1-1-1 configuration.
Wondering if there are any guidelines to choosing a seat for kids. I’ve read through the thread, and there’s no real consensus for a “couple” seat either. Any suggestions? The cabin is wide open at the moment, since the travel is months away. Thanks all!

How is ANA 788 184 Seat in J?
I searched, but there doesn't seem to be a thread on NH's 787-8 184 seat business class seat.
Have the option to fly this aircraft NRT-SEA next month in a throne seat (8F). I'm familiar with business staggered on the 77W and 789, but it appears this is a different seat? And narrower? Should I stick with this flight, or should I be looking for something better (either 77W, 789, or UA Polaris?). Thanks.
