We've come to that conclusion unfortunately... so now the question is... what if the fare ANC-SEA-OGG? Is this going to be "on sale" when its first introduced, or will it price out ANC-SEA and SEA-OGG separately... (becoming a "sky high" fare)

What visit number to LIH is this for you, and what beach are you planning on basking on?

Don't forget Costco and getting free samples of poke! mmm...!

Anyhow - have a great trip!

Aloha!

Missy is tan..WOO!

Costco was out of Ahi Shoyu poke but the garlic shrimp poke is ONO brah!

This is visit #3 to Kauai.. the first two were over 10 years ago when I was living on Oahu. So far have made visits to Shipwreck, Brenneke's, Poipu, Larsen's and Anini Beach.

Bought a case of dark chocolate mac nuts to bring home, and will be going on the hunt for Hurricane Popcorn as well.

Oh yes, and I am now in possession of a 70th Anniversary collector can of SPAM.

Party on

Most mileage legally bookable on a single AS itin? (An FT game?)

Beckoa has quite outdone himself on this one:

ANC-PDX-SEA-OGG-SEA-LAX-ANC for a total of 10,614 miles.

Using only the Alaska Airlines website (normal interface or Multi City function), flying only on AS or QX metal (no partners), and making only legal connections, what is the most mileage you can come up with?

For the purposes of this game, segments under 500 miles count as 500 miles, first class gets no bonus, direct flights (no plane change/same flight number) count as the equivalent nonstop mileage, and MVP/G bonuses do not count.

I tried a few Alaska-East Coast runs and could not come up with more. It's pretty difficult to break the 10,000-mile mark on AS...but beckoa found out that it can be done!

Edit: OK, OK, I've found one better:

ADK-CUN round trip
ADK-ANC-SEA-LAX-CUN-LAX-PDX-SEA-ANC-ADK for a total of 11,785 miles. And only $300 more than the above-listed trip!

My eyes popped out of my head on that one. Both on price and the miles.

Now that's a lot of flying...but is that legally bookable at alaskaair.com? Remember...the AS website limits you to four city pairs entered at the multi-city booking page!

Oh, and I suppose someone might be able to beat beckoa's routing by flying to LIH instead of OGG (assuming the schedules are still compatible with the other hops), since it's just a hair farther out on the Hawaiian archipelago...

Well, I suppose that's the end of this FT game...I don't think it's possible to beat that!

Just because I haven't been to HI since first grade doesn't mean you need to rub it in...

Well... that's off the top of my head... I'm sure there is a more lucrative routing out there somewhere... but I don't see any challenges yet

Hey, Hawaii twice in a year is a record for me... and if things work out over x-mas... (But probably won't due to a lack of saver avail, and affordable tickets)...

Now if AS opens up KOA...@:-)

Not so fast! I can beat that on mileage and price:
Code:
LIH-SEA 05/20 2699mi
SEA-MIA 05/21 2719mi
MIA-SEA 05/25 2719mi
SEA-BOS 05/25 2487mi
BOS-SEA 06/03 2487mi
SEA-CUN 06/04 3070mi
CUN-LAX 06/10 2115mi
LAX-SEA 06/11 955mi
SEA-LIH 06/11 2699mi

total: 21950mi and $2077.47 (tax included).
The trip I ran was LIH-MIA, MIA-BOS, BOS-CUN, CUN-LIH. There's almost certainly more room to do better miles-wise, but beating that price might be difficult.

Congrats to the new grand master! (Temporary, of course, until someone takes on his challenge...)!

Excellent Job.

I concede that you found a longer routing... congrads... not sure there are many out there crazy enough to book such a thing... (I know of a couple, probably including myself , especially routing through SEA on the MIA-BOS leg). What I really would like to figure out is a way to extend the ANC-SEA segment, routing it through HNL or OGG to maximize mileage. If someone from AS could leave open that loophole the next time ANC-SEA fares are filed, that would be !
