Well, I decided to keep what I booked yesterday during the flash sale so I'll now be doing SEA-DTW round trips on both 10/28 and 10/29 in addition to what I'd already planned.

Just updated it...with my six runs. I'm shooting for 75K, and have had a slow year of credits to AS.

Everyone in row 17 of the SEA-DTW flight today was doing a mileage run. Not sure if all were FT'ers or not. But I counted at least five people in coach incl. myself who immediately got back on the plane, and there might of been more.

No chance at upgrades on the 9/27 run. I was #11 and #10 on the upgrade lists out and back. It wasn't completely full on the way out as there was an empty middle seat in my row, which was a bonus, but the way back was full. I'm already #7 for tomorrow's flight, so I doubt there's a chance there. Oh well

When my wife and I flew to TPA last July, there were two passengers in F (not related) that got back on the plane in TPA and I always assume all of us mileage runner folks are on FT so when we talked to them in the TPA airport terminal, neither seemed to have a clue about FT and one even mentioned that they stay away from social media....I can't imagine mileage running without being a FTer

This is why I thought this was a good use of the gold upgrade certs since it's literally all day on the plane with trans con F service both ways and U space was relatively available on most days since it was a new flight (as was TPA for that matter). Once the DEQM promotion is over, my guess is that the upgrade chances will go way up without all the mileage runners. I think TPA and MSY remain relatively easy for upgrades (and U space).

Even though on a Wednesday, where is seems like it would be a bit easier to get upgraded, I wasn't expecting much on the 24th. The flight back cleared a couple of days early, and the outbound at about 7 am the day of.

For this Wednesday, both directions cleared about 30 minutes ago. 4 of 4? Maybe I shouldn't be so surprised!

I am on your flight on October 28th--I used a gold cert upgrade so I am in 1-C, both directions.
This trip will take me to 75k for the first time since the creation of this elite tier, I have been MVPGold for the previous 14 years.

Anyway, say hello on the 28th!

Sooo tempting. I have NEVER run before but this will tank me off for MVP next year. At a cost of $345.00 RT from PDX it is so tempting. The flight is in my cart. Leave PDX at 7:30 am and home in my own bed by 10pm.

Current sale has SEA-DTW for $270, $20 cheaper than when I booked in early Sept. Can't decide if I take the $20 credit in exchange for getting bumped back on the upgrade waitlist on 10/28.

This is a total no-brainer....go for it....so many EQMs in just ONE day...better yet, use a companion cert if you have one and take your significant other (which is what I'm doing....a mileage run "date" of sorts).

Maybe it's because I mainly do trips up and down the coast, but I was surprised at how much food they served in F on this flight.

Thanks!
