this was a great first milage run. 2 PDX-SEA-DTW RT's 10-28 and 10-29. Hello AS MVP. It was also great to meet some other FT folks as well. Sorry about the woman with the pet allergies redtigeriii, the open middle seat wasn't all that great

How are the loads now?

So I was wondering how the SEA-DTW loads are now that the DEQM promotion is over. As I don't have ExpertFlyer or any of those other fancy services this is totally unscientific. But I took a look at the seat map for tomorrow (11/4) morning's flight to DTW and saw:

52 available seats
F completely full (I assume the upgrades took care of that)
1 completely open exit row!
3 more open exit row middles
lots of 2 together Y seating

Just kinda interesting.

Hi -

I took the plunge and did 4 turns in October for secure my 75K. The interesting I noticed was that the morning 737 from PDX was packed every day. out of four trips up, I had one UG clear.

It makes me wonder if AS should try to add 1-2 more 737 each way in the morning and evening and keep the Q400s the rest of the time. Now that there are so many cities served out of Seattle, I suspect there are a lot of passengers originating in PDX. And that number would go up significantly if there were additional opportunities to connect to a jet.

As a bonus, that would free up some Q400s for increased frequencies to smaller communities.

+1...the morning PDX-SEA 737 I took to connect to SEA-DTW was very full as well...thankfully I was using a MVP Gold cert and there was U space on both flights. The timing of the 737 flight is perfect for connecting to transcons out of SEA....haven't taken the reverse trip yet to see how full that is.

Damn! I missed this DEQM deal. The likelihood of another DEQM deal through the end of the year is pretty much zero?

Probably, but keep an eye out for flash sales that have been happening a lot on wednesdays, and you may be able to find something at a decent price.

Odds of a new DEQM offer between now and year end?

Between slim and none is my guess.

The DEQM offer for Detroit was announced a couple of months before the new service started.

I think one to Hawaii in January would be juuuust perrrrfect...why not get a jump start on the year?

Seriously, though, if ridership drops off enough to DTW I'd go there again to actually sightsee while getting DEQM.

How could you miss one of the best AS DEQM promotions of the year...it was announced around 5 or 6 months ago and talked about A LOT here on FT....over 11,000 views on this thread already and reports of SEA-DTW flights being packed with mileage runners (like me).

No problem getting upgraded to First 5 days before flights, seat 2A both ways today. It's not DEQM, but it push me to MVP Gold this year and next, didn't fly enough to reach 75K this year.
